He stated that the cartels are not just in Mexico, but also present in the United States. Scott is now Distinguished Senior Fellow for Border Policy with the Texas Public Policy Foundation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf it\u2019s narcotics or even aliens, they are basically facilitated and guided to their ultimate destinations through cartel members on this side of the border and they have very tight ties with many of the gangs, MS-13 and others. You can\u2019t really tell where the cartels end and where they don\u2019t,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott also testified that he witnessed the degradation of border security from order back to total chaos firsthand during the Biden administration. He believes that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-border-patrol-chief-tells-congress-drug-cartels-control-us-border-with-mexico\/\" title=\"Ex-Border Patrol Chief Informs Congress of Drug Cartel Control at US-Mexico Border.\">highly publicized policy shift created<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/calls-for-biden-white-house-to-act-on-border-crisis-continue-to-grow\/\" title=\"Calls for Biden White House to act on border crisis continue to grow\">current border crisis<\/a> and effectively transferred control of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-ends-remain-in-mexico-policy-allows-asylum-seekers-into-us\/\" title=\"Biden Ends \u2018Remain in Mexico\u2019 Policy, Allows Asylum Seekers Into US\">southwest border<\/a> into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing also included witness Tammy Nobles, the mother of 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton, who was murdered last year by an MS-13 gang member who was illegally present in the country. Nobles stated that her daughter would still be alive if federal officials had properly vetted the accused murderer when he crossed into the United States at Brownsville, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats on the subcommittee defended Biden\u2019s policies, while Republicans displayed a large photo of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, with his frequently repeated statements that \u201cthe border is secure\u201d and \u201cwe screen and vet individuals we encounter.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott claims that drug cartels in Mexico, not the U.S. government, have control over everything that crosses the Southwest border, including illegal migrant crossings that create gaps in border security.
