The FBI officials had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-gov-cuomo-shunned-experts-embraced-lobbyists-drove-top-health-officials-to-quit-over-pandemic-response-report\/\" title=\"NY Gov. Cuomo Shunned Experts, Embraced Lobbyists, Drove Top Health Officials To Quit Over Pandemic Response: Report\">closed-door meeting<\/a> with House Oversight Committee staff on May 22, but Comer said they still refused to turn over the requested file.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve asked for a phone call with Director Wray,\u201d Comer told Fox News. \u201cWe expect to get this document.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FBI has so far failed to comply with the subpoena Comer issued to FBI Director Christopher Wray earlier this month. The deadline set in the subpoena was May 10.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t respect anyone in Congress,\u201d Comer said. \u201cThey\u2019ve been able to get away with this for a long time. The media continues to turn a blind eye. The Senate Republicans continue to fund the FBI. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), revealed in a May 3 letter that they received \u201clegally protected and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/some-house-republicans-call-for-holding-fbi-director-in-contempt-of-congress-for-failing-to-comply-with-subpoena\/\" title=\"GOP House members want to hold FBI Director in contempt for not following subpoena.\">highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures<\/a>.\u201d The whistleblower\u2019s tip indicated that the Department of Justice and the FBI possessed an unclassified record that \u201cdescribes an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senator-grassley-fbi-and-doj-will-damage-their-credibility-further-if-they-dont-cooperate-with-subpoena\/\" title=\"Grassley warns FBI and DOJ to cooperate with subpoena or risk credibility damage.\">alleged criminal scheme involving<\/a> then-vice president Joe Biden and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-director-subpoenaed-after-whistleblower-reveals-criminal-scheme-involving-joe-biden\/\" title=\"FBI Director subpoenaed over whistleblower's disclosure of Joe Biden's 'criminal scheme'.\">foreign national relating<\/a> to the exchange of money for policy decisions,\u201d according to the letter to Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland.<\/p>\n<p>The disclosure built on the Oversight Committee\u2019s month-long investigation into Biden and his alleged involvement in his son Hunter\u2019s foreign business deals. On May 10, investigators revealed that bank records from subpoenas showed that the \u201cBiden family, their business associates, and their companies received over $10 million from foreign nationals\u2019 companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Comer said the requested internal law enforcement document plays a crucial role in the ongoing probe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very crucial piece of our investigation,\u201d Comer said. \u201cAnd the reason that I think it\u2019s very credible is this claim was made years before anyone knew about these different shell companies. Ian Sams, the White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations, previously accused the Republicans of years-long efforts at \u201clobbing unfounded, unproven, politically-motivated attacks against the President and his family without offering evidence for their claims or evidence of decisions influenced by anything other than U.S. interests.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On May 19, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) had a phone call with Wray, emphasizing Congress\u2019s right to obtain the FBI record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe after this call, we will get this document,\u201d McCarthy said.<\/p>\n<p>The subpoenaed document is an intel law enforcement note, known as an FD-1023 form, that is used to record information from confidential human sources.<\/p>\n<p>Comer suggested he would speak to Wray directly.
