The deal comes as North American automakers race to secure supplies of battery materials to boost EV output and catch up with market leader Tesla Inc amid surging demand for environment-friendly vehicles. Earlier this year, Ford joined PT Vale Indonesia and China\u2019s Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt\u2019s as their new partner in a $4.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ford-in-4-5-billion-deal-for-ev-battery-materials-plant\/\" title=\"Ford in .5 billion deal for EV battery materials plant\">5 billion nickel processing plant<\/a> in Indonesia. The deal announced on Monday will strengthen \u201cFord\u2019s sourcing to produce two million EVs by the end of 2026 \u2013 and beyond,\u201d at a time when doubts linger on Wall Street about the automaker\u2019s ability to hit that target. Ford reaffirmed its full-year guidance of $9 billion to $11 billion of adjusted earnings before interest and taxes and about $6 billion in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/upbeat-ford-affirms-full-year-profit-despite-surging-costs\/\" title=\"Upbeat Ford affirms full-year profit despite surging costs\">adjusted free cash flow<\/a>.
