In a battle for the puck on the boards, Veleno lifted his right leg and stomped down hard on the left leg of Nino Niederreiter, the Swiss team&#8217;s captain. <\/p>\n<p>The incident was caught on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-circuit-breaker-on-election-night\/\" title=\"The question looms: just how does it come to be that three quarters of Republican and nearly one third of Democrat voters all believe that the election was stolen from Trump?\">camera<\/a> and quickly went viral, with many expressing their outrage at Veleno&#8217;s actions. Even more shocking, officials at the time did not notice the stomp and Veleno was not penalized. In international hockey, a person who participates in a fight is assessed a match penalty and then ejected from the contest.<\/p>\n<p>The injury could have been much worse than it was, and both Veleno and Niederreiter are lucky that nothing more serious happened.
