Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Tucker Carlson&#8217;s Potential Breach-of-Contract Case Against Fox Stems from Phone Call by Network&#8217;s Lawyer: Report<\/h2>\n<p>A phone call from a Fox News attorney to an associate of Tucker Carlson earlier this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tucker-carlsons-potential-breach-of-contract-case-against-fox-stems-from-phone-call-by-networks-lawyer-report\/\" title=\"Tucker Carlson may have a breach-of-contract case against Fox due to a call from the network's lawyer.\">month spearheaded accusations<\/a> of breach of contract the former top-rated host has lodged against his former employer, according to a report.<\/p>\n<h3>The Allegations<\/h3>\n<p>Axios reported that two weeks after Carlson was inexplicably ousted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnn-msnbc-feverishly-courting-jen-psaki-for-post-white-house-cable-news-spot-report\/\" title=\"CNN, MSNBC \u2018Feverishly\u2019 Courting Jen Psaki For Post White House Cable News Spot: Report\">cable news giant<\/a>, his high-powered attorney Bryan Freedman accused Fox News of breach of contract and \u201cfraud\u201d in a letter it described as \u201caggressive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report claimed Freedman sent Fox the letter on May 9 and that he accused the company of breaking an agreement not to disparage Carlson after he was fired on April 24.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Freedman reportedly threatened potential legal action and declared Fox News had broken an agreement not \u201cto take any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bill-taking-aim-at-amazon-warehouse-production-quotas-passes-california-senate\/\" title=\"Bill Taking Aim At Amazon Warehouse Production Quotas Passes California Senate\">adverse employment action<\/a> against him\u201d after his show was canceled.<\/p>\n<p>Freedman also accused Fox Corporation CEO and founder Rupert Murdoch personally of acting \u201cintentionally and with reckless disregard for the truth\u201d regarding how the network handled the immediacy of Carlson\u2019s exit.<\/p>\n<h3>The Leaks<\/h3>\n<p>Soon after his ouster, private messages and videos from Carlson\u2019s time at Fox News began to leak to left-wing outlets such as The New York Times and Media Matters.<\/p>\n<p>The leaks appeared as though they were meant to damage Carlson, but in fact worked to further endear him to loyal fans.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the leaks, Vinh reportedly wanted Carlson to know, through the intermediary, that those leaks were \u201cnot authorized\u201d by anyone in a leadership position at the company.<\/p>\n<p>Dinh also reportedly asked the individual he contacted to tell Carlson that Fox News public relations head Irena Briganti \u2013 whom Carlson reportedly had issues with \u2013 had been warned she would be \u201cfired\u201d if she were caught leaking anything negative to the media.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson\u2019s team came up with two initial prime suspects in former House Speaker Paul Ryan and hedge fund manager Anne Dias.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller reported Carlson\u2019s team later eliminated Ryan as the person who had leaked to the press and believed Dias was the person who had worked to undermine him.<\/p>\n<h3>The Response<\/h3>\n<p>Freedman told The Daily Caller the leaks equated to a \u201csmear campaign\u201d against his client.<\/p>\n<p>Per Axios\u2019 initial reporting, Carlson wants out of his non-compete contract with Fox News immediately and not in January 2025, when it expires.<\/p>\n<p>The reported admission from Dinh gave Freedman what he felt was ample evidence that Fox News had already breached the contract, which theoretically means Carlson is free and clear to pursue the next phase of his career.<\/p>\n<p>No lawsuit has been filed by either party, but Carlson has announced he will begin airing some version of his show on Twitter in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Western Journal<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Fox News attorney&#8217;s phone call to an associate of Tucker Carlson led to accusations of breach of contract by the former host against his former employer.
