As punishment, DeSantis took over Disney World\u2019s self-governing district through legislation passed by lawmakers and appointed a new board of supervisors. Disney&#8217;s suit against DeSantis alleges the governor waged a \u201ctargeted campaign of government retaliation.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Optimistic About Walt Disney World Business<\/h3>\n<p>Despite the setback, Josh D\u2019Amaro, chairman of the parks, experiences, and products division, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dea-issues-public-safety-alert-amid-surge-of-counterfeit-pills\/\" title=\"DEA issues public safety alert amid surge of counterfeit pills\">remains optimistic<\/a> about the direction of Walt Disney World&#8217;s business. The company has plans to invest $17 billion and create 13,000 jobs over the next ten years.<\/p>\n<h3>Background<\/h3>\n<p>The creation of Disney\u2019s self-governing district by the Florida Legislature was instrumental in the company\u2019s decision in the 1960s to build in Lake Buena Vista, near Orlando. Disney told the state at the time that it planned to build a futuristic city that would include a transit system and urban planning innovations, so the company needed autonomy.
