Up is not down, black is not white, and men are not women. A beer that tastes like swill giving tacit approval to the perversion of God\u2019s natural order of creation was the final straw for many.<\/p>\n<p>People were justifiably furious at Bud Light, and the subsequent boycotts have tanked sales, shaken up company leadership, and generally damaged the brand. Culturally, it was an unmitigated disaster the likes of which the retail world has seldom seen.<\/p>\n<p>Now? There may be a grievous legal injury added to insult after Sens. Ted Cruz and Marsha Blackburn, a pair of fiery Republicans, formally opened an investigation into the Belgian brewing titan.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint news release on Wednesday, it was announced that Cruz and Blackburn would be calling on \u201cthe beer industry\u2019s self-regulatory body \u2014 the Beer Institute \u2014 to investigate whether Anhueser-Busch\u2019s partnership with influencer Dylan Mulvaney violates the Beer Institute\u2019s guidelines prohibiting marketing to underage individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz and Blackburn are the ranking members of the Senate Commerce Committee and the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter calling on Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth to cut all ties with Mulvaney, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-senators-grill-secy-of-state-blinken-over-bidens-afghan-fiasco\/\" title=\"GOP senators grill Secy. of State Blinken over Biden\u2019s Afghan fiasco\">senators expressed concerns<\/a> over \u201cevidence showing that Dylan Mulvaney\u2019s audience skews younger than the legal drinking age and that Mulvaney\u2019s social media content appeals to young viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The senators urged Anheuser-Busch to publicly sever its relationship with Dylan Mulvaney<\/li>\n<li>They also called for a public apology to the American people for marketing alcoholic beverages to minors<\/li>\n<li>They directed Dylan Mulvaney to remove any Anheuser-Busch content from his social media platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cSecond, we believe that Anheuser-Busch\u2019s clear failure to exercise appropriate due diligence when selecting online influencers for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ted-cruz-gives-anheuser-buschs-ceo-bad-news-in-letter-sets-deadline-to-comply\/\" title=\"Ted Cruz tells Anheuser-Busch CEO to comply by deadline.\">marketing efforts warrants detailed oversight<\/a> by Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo that end, this letter includes a series of document requests that will help clarify how Anheuser-Busch vets its partnerships and how Anheuser-Busch failed in assessing the propriety of a partnership with Dylan Mulvaney.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter then highlights some of the aforementioned evidence regarding Mulvaney\u2019s fan base. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wth-8-year-old-social-media-star-dating-13-year-old-influencer-with-her-moms-blessing\/\" title=\"WTH: 8-YEAR-OLD Social Media Star \u2018Dating\u2019 13-Year-Old Influencer \u2014 With Her Mom\u2019s Blessing\">social media star<\/a> has 1.8 million followers on Instagram and 10.8 million followers on TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz and Blackburn noted that Mulvaney is known for a video series called \u201cDays of Girlhood\u201d documenting the \u201cgender transition\u201d for which he is famous. The series \u201creceived over 750 million views in less than 100 days,\u201d the letter said, citing Mulvaney\u2019s talent agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe use of the phrase \u2018Girlhood\u2019 was not a slip of the tongue but rather emblematic of a series of Mulvaney\u2019s online content that was specifically used to target, market to, and attract an audience of young people who are well below the legal drinking age in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter points out that any \u201cobjective survey\u201d of Mulvaney\u2019s social media content \u201cclearly presents a faux, pre-pubescent girl persona that is created and presented to specifically appeal to young viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz and Blackburn may be pulling on a brilliant thread that many conservatives had not even thought of. Nary was a voice asking \u201cWhat about the children?\u201d when the Mulvaney controversy first exploded, but now that Cruz and Blackburn have asked it, it opens a whole new can of worms for those cans of gross beer.<\/p>\n<p>For Cruz, there\u2019s a precedent for this kind of impermissible advertising. Just ask anyone who was addicted to nicotine in the \u201980s and \u201990s.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing on Fox News, Cruz recalled the backlash to Joe Camel (the mascot of the cigarette brand Camel) convincing kids to smoke.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cRemember the whole Joe Camel thing?\u201d Cruz asked. \u201cThis is the same thing here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Cruz and Blackburn have given Anheuser-Busch until the end of the month to respond and provide documents showing what they did or did not know about Mulvaney\u2019s target audience.<\/p>\n<h3>Summary<\/h3>\n<p>Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Marsha Blackburn have opened an investigation into Anheuser-Busch&#8217;s partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
