The Democrats were concerned that suspended FBI agent Marcus Allen had talked to Republican members of the subcommittee before the hearing but had declined to do so with Democrats present.<\/p>\n<h3>Democrats Demand Access to Transcript<\/h3>\n<p>Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands), the ranking member, complained about not having access to a transcript of Allen\u2019s prior conversation. When Plaskett asked subcommittee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for a copy of Allen\u2019s prior comments, Jordan said, \u201cThat will be up to Mr. Allen.\u201d Jordan acknowledged having a transcript of Allen\u2019s comments, but he said that because Allen is a whistleblower, he had the right to decide who could receive a copy.<\/p>\n<h3>Whistleblowers Suffer Retaliation<\/h3>\n<p>The focus of the hearing was supposed to be on the trio of agents: suspended FBI agent Garrett O\u2019Boyle, former FBI agent Steve Friend, and Allen, who is suspended without pay from his duties as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblowers-expose-fbis-corruption-and-ongoing-persecution-of-political-opponents-in-damning-new-testimony\/\" title=\"FBI corruption and persecution of political opponents exposed by whistleblowers in new testimony.\">staff operations specialist<\/a>. All three men claimed whistleblower status, which is supposed to provide immunity from illegal retaliation by FBI officials, but all of them said they have suffered significant abuse as a result of sharing information with Congress.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The whistleblowers told Congress that FBI officials forced agents to record dealings with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elon-musk-rips-jan-6-committee-misleading-the-public-withheld-evidence\/\" title=\"Elon Musk Rips Jan 6 Committee: \u2018Misleading The Public \u2026 Withheld Evidence\u2019\">accused domestic terrorists<\/a> as if they represented multiple cases rather than individual cases.<\/li>\n<li>They also told Congress that the Department of Justice (DOJ) directed surveillance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-weaponization-panel-hears-fbi-whistleblowers-amid-democrat-delaying-tactics\/\" title=\"FBI whistleblowers testify at House Weaponization Panel despite Democrat delays.\">parents protesting school board policies<\/a> such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/this-can-be-an-attack-on-all-women-sen-tuberville-noises-off-on-biden-admins-transgender-policies\/\" title=\"\u2018This CAN BE AN Attack \u2026 On All Women\u2019: Sen. Tuberville Noises Off On Biden Admin\u2019s Transgender Policies\">allowing male students<\/a> who identify as females to use female bathrooms.<\/li>\n<li>Leavitt testified that FBI whistleblowers have second-class status compared to those in most federal agencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The National Defense Authorization Act of 2022 included a provision exempting the FBI from whistleblower obligations.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the Democrats&#8217; objections, the hearing lasted nearly four hours, and subcommittee Democrats argued that Jordan was obligated under House rules to share the Allen transcript with them before the hearing.
