Then it all dismantled,\u201d the 31-year-old singer told the outlet. She said the COVID pandemic contributed to her state of mind. \u201cYou combine the disappointment with grief and loss and the state of the world \u2026 I felt like I didn\u2019t know myself anymore. The self-titled album was released on May 12. \u201cFor all the fans that have been with me in my journey from the very, very, very beginning, this is no different than a \u2018You Say\u2019 moment for me. These are other little pieces of me that you\u2019re now going to get to learn of as well,\u201d Daigle told People. She called her new album a \u201crebirth process.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Songs of Soul and Spirit<\/h3>\n<p>Daigle said, \u201cEach song fell in a box of soul and spirit.\u201d \u201cThere\u2019s this Bible verse that says, \u2018The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. It can cut through bone and marrow, soul and spirit.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018The soul and spirit, they\u2019re so intertwined,&#8217;\u201d the singer said. \u201cOnce this started to happen [as I was writing], I was like, \u2018That would be a song that I would write from the soul for the soul, and this is a song that I\u2019d write from the Spirit for the spirit; these songs of heartache and longing and difficulty and joy and newness and all that, they\u2019re coming from this soul lane, but there\u2019s these other God songs that are also me as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Message of Hope<\/h3>\n<p>Daigle\u2019s new album is a testament to her journey of self-discovery and healing.
