U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed the attack, but stated that it did not appear to be directed at the U.S. mission in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Blinken released a statement on Wednesday, expressing his condolences to the families of those killed and pledging to do everything possible to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/man-who-left-dead-fish-at-goonies-house-rescued-after-stolen-yacht-capsized-arrested-police-say\/\" title=\"Man Who Left Dead Fish At \u2018Goonies\u2019 House Rescued After Stolen Yacht Capsized, Arrested, Police Say\">safely recover<\/a> those who remain missing. He also stated that the U.S. mission and its Nigerian counterparts are working together to determine the location and condition of those unaccounted for.<\/p>\n<p>The convoy was carrying five U.S. mission employees and four members of the Nigeria Police Force. They were en route to a U.S.-funded flood response project in Nigeria&#8217;s Anambra state when the attack occurred.<\/p>\n<h3>Working to Bring Those Responsible to Justice<\/h3>\n<p>Blinken condemned the attack in the strongest terms and vowed to work closely with Nigerian law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.
