Marjorie Taylor Greene Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against DHS Secretary<\/h2>\n<h3>Mayorkas Accused of Negligence and Refusal to Enforce Laws<\/h3>\n<p>Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is facing allegations of negligence and refusal to enforce laws from those concerned with the porousness of the U.S. southern border, including Republicans. On May 17, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cancel-culture-media-calls-for-rep-marjorie-taylor-greene-to-resign-over-past-comments-rep-greene-hits-back\/\" title=\"Cancel Culture Media Calls for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to Resign Over Past Comments \u2014 Rep. Greene HITS BACK\">introduced articles<\/a> of impeachment against Mayorkas, who oversees the border.<\/p>\n<h3>Third Such Articles Released During This Session of Congress<\/h3>\n<p>Greene\u2019s articles against Mayorkas are the third such articles released during this session of Congress. Two other resolutions were introduced earlier by Reps. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Pat Fallon (R-Texas) during the 118th Congress.<\/p>\n<h3>Mayorkas Accused of Aiding and Abetting Invasion of the Country<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cSince assuming office, Secretary Mayorkas has aided and abetted the complete invasion of our country by deliberately flooding our nation with drugs, terrorists, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-urge-americans-to-stay-home-in-january-knowing-no-one-would-show-up-for-a-stolen-inauguration\/\" title=\"Democrats Urge Americans to Stay Home in January Knowing No One Would Show Up for a Stolen Inauguration\">illegal aliens<\/a>,\u201d Greene wrote in a statement on the articles. \u201cHe lied to the American people, he lied under oath, and he has blatantly violated his oath of office.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Other Grievances Listed<\/h3>\n<p>Greene listed other grievances as well, including Mayorkas repeatedly pulling over 50 percent of border agents from guarding the border wall and moving them to processing, caring for, and transferring illegals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-ice-director-tom-homan-warns-left-seeking-to-abolish-agency-by-other-means\/\" title=\"Ex-ICE Director Tom Homan Warns Left Seeking to Abolish Agency by Other Means\">leaving huge gaps<\/a> for cartels and smugglers to exploit. In another instance, while the United States was dealing with a substantial shortage of baby formula, Mayorkas allowed \u201ccopious\u201d amounts of these scarce resources to be allocated to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-offers-four-month-paid-leave-to-federal-employees-who-take-in-illegal-alien-children\/\" title=\"Biden Administration Offers Four Month Paid Leave To Federal Employees Who Take In Illegal Alien Children\">illegal alien children<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Mayorkas Defended by DHS<\/h3>\n<p>In an emailed response to The Epoch Times in response to the resolution, the DHS defended Mayorkas. \u201cSecretary Mayorkas is proud to advance the noble mission of this department, support its extraordinary workforce, and serve the American people,\u201d a spokesperson said. \u201cThe Department will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border, protect the nation from terrorism, improve our cybersecurity, all while building a safe, orderly, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-to-allow-in-around-25000-asylum-seekers\/\" title=\"Biden Administration To Allow In Around 25,000 Asylum Seekers\">humane immigration system<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Prospects<\/h3>\n<p>Lawmakers suggested in comments to The Epoch Times that the push to impeach Mayorkas is unlikely to succeed, given the Democrats\u2019 control of the House and Senate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
