Chris Murphy, D-Conn., is revealing his true colors and they\u2019re not flattering. Murphy was a guest on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press\u201d on Sunday when he ominously and recklessly warned of a \u201cpopular revolt\u201d if the U.S. Supreme Court doesn\u2019t rubber-stamp an unconstitutional gun control agenda that he and the Biden administration are attempting to force on the American people.<\/p>\n<p>This dangerous rhetoric would be labeled \u201cseditious\u201d or \u201ctreasonous\u201d had a Republican lawmaker uttered it. So far, there has been deafening silence by those same lawmakers that rightfully decried the Jan. 6 violence on Capitol Hill. That doesn\u2019t excuse the senator\u2019s remarks that seem to offer a wink-and-a-nod to those who would seize the moment to lash out at best or at worst invite and incite violence against the government institutions that protect the rights of American people.<\/p>\n<h3>Murphy&#8217;s Insolent Response<\/h3>\n<p>Murphy was asked for his reaction to a Virginia federal court\u2019s ruling that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-dc-gun-dealer-sees-business-boom-after-overcoming-city-roadblocks\/\" title=\"New DC Gun Dealer Sees Business Boom After Overcoming City Roadblocks\u00a0\">federal law barring<\/a> the sale of handguns to adults under 21 is unconstitutional. The judge found that age-based restrictions \u00a0\u201cdo not exist with other constitutional guarantees.\u201d The judge correctly applied the history and tradition test as set by the U.S. Supreme Court in Bruen. Murphy chose to respond as an insolent child rather than as the statesman he purports to be and who swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies \u2014 foreign and domestic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the Supreme Court eventually says that states or the Congress can\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/full-text-president-joe-bidens-state-of-the-union-address\/\" title=\"Full Text: President Joe Biden's State of the Union Address\">pass universal background checks<\/a> or can\u2019t take these assault weapons off the streets, I think there\u2019s going to be a popular revolt over that policy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h3>The Root of Murphy&#8217;s Frustration<\/h3>\n<p>In all honesty, Murphy\u2019s angst isn\u2019t so much with the Supreme Court as it is with the U.S. Constitution. The fact the Second Amendment exists to protect the pre-existing right of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical government that would disbar them of the means to protect themselves is the root of the senator\u2019s frustration. Without that explicit guarantee, gun control special interests and antigun politicians like Murphy would have stripped Americans of lawfully owned and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chris-murphys-dangerous-threat-of-popular-revolt-threatens-the-american-public\/\" title=\"Chris Murphy's threat of a \"popular revolt\" endangers Americans.\">possessed firearms decades ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Misrepresenting Firearms<\/h3>\n<p>Murphy and his antigun colleagues purposefully misrepresent the firearms as \u201cassault weapons\u201d but they know that\u2019s a politically manufactured term to demonize the firearm. The left\u2019s newest demonizing moniker is the focus-group-tested \u201cweapons of war.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Threatening the Supreme Court<\/h3>\n<p>Murphy\u2019s veiled threats against the U.S. Supreme Court weren\u2019t the only thing. He seized the opportunity to denigrate the court\u2019s role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA court that\u2019s already pretty illegitimate is going to be in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-the-situation-is-completely-unstable-crenshaw-tours-the-southern-border\/\" title=\"WATCH: \u2018The Situation Is Completely Unstable\u2019: Crenshaw Tours The Southern Border\">full crisis mode<\/a>,\u201d Murphy added in his \u201cMeet the Press\u201d interview.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy joins a growing and disturbing chorus of lawmakers \u2014 particularly senators \u2014 to target the Supreme Court actively and passively over frustrations that the justices aren\u2019t political theater pawns.<\/p>\n<h3>Inviting Violence<\/h3>\n<p>Murphy\u2019s thoughtless threat of \u201cpopular revolt\u201d threatens the American public. Inviting the American public to commit to a \u201cpopular revolt\u201d for the cause of gun control is insanity. The Second Amendment protects against a tyrannical government that oppresses the will of a free people. Stirring those who oppose lawful firearm ownership and a Constitutionally-protected industry that provides the means to exercise fundamental rights is beyond irresponsible. It is inciting violence and provoking a potentially violent confrontation.<\/p>\n<p>The American public deserves better. These invitations for \u201cpopular revolt\u201d because the Supreme Court upholds rights protected by the Constitution are incendiary. Murphy must put down the matches when he walks into a room of powder kegs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lawrence G.
