The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/afghan-national-on-fbi-terror-watchlist-crossed-border-report\/\" title=\"FBI Watchlisted Afghan National Crossed Border: Report.\">unidentified individual made<\/a> it across the U.S.-Mexico divide near Otay Mesa, California, on Wednesday, according to Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin, who cited &#8220;multiple&#8221; U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources.<\/p>\n<h3>FBI Confirms Match and Leads Investigation<\/h3>\n<p>Melugin reported that the FBI &#8220;confirmed the match&#8221; and is leading an investigation. The Daily Wire reached out to CBP as well as the FBI seeking comment. CBP deferred to the FBI, which said it would not comment on the specific inquiry.<\/p>\n<h3>Reactions on Social Media<\/h3>\n<p>News of the arrest generated a great deal of reactions on social media. Stephen Miller, who served as a top aide to former President Donald Trump, tweeted, &#8220;And remember: got aways have never been higher. Vast stretches of border totally unguarded and unpatrolled as agents forced to process and release record influx.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Border Situation and Criticism of Biden Administration<\/h3>\n<p>The reported arrest took place as the Biden administration made preparations for an expected influx of people at the border with the pandemic-era Title 42 expiring at the end of Thursday. Republicans have assailed President Joe Biden for instituting &#8220;open border policies&#8221; that they say have fueled problems, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawmaker-says-he-would-arrest-mayorkas-if-he-could\/\" title=\"Lawmaker Says He Would Arrest Mayorkas If He Could\">fentanyl drug trafficking<\/a> and illegal immigration. Some Democrats have also condemned the administration for its response to the border situation.<\/p>\n<p>Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday rejected the criticism. &#8220;It&#8217;s extraordinary what we&#8217;ve done over the past 18 months or so,&#8221; Mayorkas said during an appearance on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union.&#8221; In addition, the secretary said Border Patrol encounters have dropped by half in the two days since Title 42 ended.<\/p>\n<h3>Confirmation from Rep. Darrell Issa<\/h3>\n<p>Melugin said Rep.
