Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) passionately defended the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) ideology. He argued that investors need to be &#8220;watchful and alert to opportunities and risks&#8221; in order to guide companies in their business decisions.<\/p>\n<h3>Republican Attacks on ESG<\/h3>\n<p>Unfortunately, Republicans nationwide have been attacking the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-illinois-sheriffs-departments-refuse-request-to-staff-chicago-streets-during-possible-police-shortage\/\" title=\"More Illinois Sheriffs Departments Refuse Request To Staff Chicago Streets During Possible Police Shortage\">progressive political agenda<\/a>, claiming that the adoption of ESG by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-congressional-democrat-defends-woke-esg-investing\/\" title=\"Top Dem defends ESG investing.\">multi-national financial institutions<\/a> is an attempt by radical foreign elites to impose their views on American society. This has led to a shift in public sentiment, with American investors beginning to insist that asset managers focus on company financial returns when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-to-take-action-against-esg\/\" title=\"DeSantis to Take Action Against ESG\">making investment decisions<\/a> over politics.<\/p>\n<h3>The English Language and ESG Principles<\/h3>\n<p>Raskin used his time to lecture his fellow congressmen on the English language in an attempt to justify ESG principles. &#8220;The word work comes from the Indo-European root &#8216;weg,&#8217; which means to be strong and alert,&#8221; Raskin said, explaining that the word evolved into the modern word vigilance. &#8220;The whole point of being a fiduciary is to be vigilant, watchful and alert to opportunities and risks, and that&#8217;s what asset managers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-judge-diversity-quota-discrimination-remedied-by-more-discrimination\/\" title=\"California Judge: Diversity Quota 'Discrimination ... She faced strong opposition from Republican senators and Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (D-Va.) over her radical stance on climate-based financial policy.<\/p>\n<h3>Republican Attacks on Climate Change Ideology<\/h3>\n<p>The Republican-dominated House Oversight Committee called in attorney generals from several states on May 10 to testify on the dangers of ESG in corporate culture.
