Governor; Lead So Far In House Of Delegates\">attorney general election<\/a>. On May 16, the Mohave County Superior Court will hear oral arguments on their motion for a new trial. Hamadeh and the RNC argue that not all legal votes have been counted in the former\u2019s race against now-Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes and that once they are, the results will show Hamadeh as the legitimate winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am trying to restore not just election integrity, [but also the belief] that there\u2019s a justice system that can remedy bad [elections],\u201d Hamadeh told The Federalist.<\/p>\n<h3>Arizona\u2019s Midterm Election Chaos<\/h3>\n<p>Unlike most states that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-you-need-to-know-about-next-weeks-court-hearing-on-arizonas-2022-ag-race\/\" title=\"Arizona's 2022 AG Race: Key Details on Next Week's Court Hearing.\">witnessed efficient election administration<\/a> during the 2022 midterms, Arizona was marred by chaos and incompetence. In Maricopa County, which is home to almost 62 percent of Arizona\u2019s 7.2 million people, poll workers at roughly 30 percent of the county\u2019s voting centers reported that their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-worker-gives-an-inside-look-at-complete-chaos-in-maricopa-county-on-election-day\/\" title=\"Poll Worker Gives An Inside Look At \u2018Complete Chaos\u2019 In Maricopa County On Election Day\">respective vote tabulation machines<\/a> were rejecting voters\u2019 ballots, resulting in long wait times and widespread confusion among voters and election workers alike.<\/p>\n<p>After the election, Hamadeh and the RNC filed a lawsuit alleging numerous counts of improper activity by Arizona election officials, including \u201cwrongful disqualification of provisional and early ballots,\u201d \u201cexclusion of provisional voters,\u201d and \u201cinaccurate ballot duplications.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>What Hamadeh and the RNC Claim<\/h3>\n<p>At the core of Hamadeh and the RNC\u2019s motion for retrial is the assertion that since the certification of the attorney general race, \u201c[t]here is new and compelling information that not all legal votes were counted.\u201d The legal filing highlights the state\u2019s election recount, specifically the uncounted and miscounted votes discovered in Pinal County.<\/p>\n<p>Hamadeh and the RNC are also contesting issues related to provisional ballots, which are used to record votes when it remains uncertain whether a person is eligible to vote. According to Hamadeh\u2019s legal team, hundreds of voters with a voting history had their provisional ballots rejected as being not registered.<\/p>\n<h3>The Road Ahead<\/h3>\n<p>While the outcome of Hamadeh\u2019s election challenge remains uncertain, it wouldn\u2019t be unprecedented for a court to determine a different winner months after an election. When asked about his prospects in Arizona\u2019s judicial system, Hamadeh expressed optimism that his team will eventually emerge victorious and blasted Democrats for their hypocrisy when it comes to their mantra of \u201ccount every vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our lawsuit, we\u2019re taking the position of Democrats, which is \u2018count every vote\u2019 and talking about voter disenfranchisement, and the Democrats are the ones screaming about [how] every single vote was counted,\u201d Hamadeh said. \u201cWe\u2019re not alleging fraud in our case. \u2026 We\u2019re simply saying that they need to count these legal votes, and I think for courts, it\u2019s a lot easier to count votes than to try to remove votes.
