Comcast, NBC\u2019s parent company, confirmed Gamble\u2019s departure in a statement.<\/p>\n<h3>Gamble\u2019s Complaint<\/h3>\n<p>Gamble filed her complaint prior to Shell\u2019s ouster, claiming that the two had been involved in an affair that began more than a decade earlier. She alleged that Shell had spent years pursuing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/satire-ten-disney-characters-who-should-be-canceled\/\" title=\"Satire: Ten Disney Characters Who Should Be Canceled\">sexual relationship<\/a> with her and that she ultimately relented, agreeing to the relationship only because she was afraid her career would suffer if she continued to refuse him. \u201cIt became clear to her that rebutting his advances would probably damage her career,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/man-who-allegedly-sex-trafficked-missing-minor-charged\/\" title=\"Man Who Allegedly Sex Trafficked Missing Minor Charged\">complaint read<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Shell\u2019s Exit<\/h3>\n<p>Comcast announced Shell\u2019s exit on April 23, following an investigation into a complaint of inappropriate conduct. Shell also released a statement at the time, admitting to the relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret. I\u2019m truly sorry I let my Comcast and NBCUniversal colleagues down, they are the most talented people in the business and the opportunity to work with them the last 19 years has been a privilege,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h3>Gamble\u2019s Departure<\/h3>\n<p>According to a report from the New York Post, Gamble only filed the complaint when she learned that her contract, which was set to expire, was going to be allowed to lapse without renewal.
