So, what does <em>The New York Times<\/em> do based on that report? \u201cThe Gray Lady\u201d published a glossy profile of Burns that ran cover for both America\u2019s top spook as well as Epstein.<\/p>\n<h3>What Happened?<\/h3>\n<p>In late April, <em>The Journal<\/em> reported that Burns met with Epstein three times in 2014. Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to procuring a minor for prostitution and received a lenient punishment. That raised the question, how and why did Burns \u2014 who was deputy secretary of state at the time \u2014 meet with Epstein?<\/p>\n<p>CIA spokeswoman Tammy Kupperman Thorp defended the meetings. \u201cThe director did not know anything about him, other than that he was introduced as an expert in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tom-cotton-dr-fauci-is-playing-word-games-about-u-s-taxpayer-money-being-sent-to-wuhan-lab\/\" title=\"Tom Cotton: \u2018Dr. Fauci Is Playing Word Games\u2019 About U.S. Taxpayer Money Being Sent To Wuhan Lab\">financial services sector<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/epstein-scheduled-meetings-with-now-cia-director-report\/\" title=\"Epstein Scheduled Meetings With Now-CIA Director: Report\">offered general advice<\/a> on the transition to the private sector,\u201d she told <em>The Journal<\/em>. \u201cThey had no relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>High-ranking officials are typically more cautious with who they meet and certainly don\u2019t take meetings with just anybody off the street, so of course the media world has demanded more answers.<\/p>\n<h3>What Did <em>The New York Times<\/em> Do?<\/h3>\n<p>For now, the closest we can get to Burns to ask those questions is via <em>The Times<\/em>. On Tuesday, the paper published a story, titled, \u201cWilliam Burns, a C.I.A. Spymaster With Unusual Powers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how the paper described Burns, and this is not a joke:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>His ascent is an unlikely turn for a tall, discreet figure with wary eyes, ashen hair and a trim mustache, a sort you could easily imagine in a John Le Carre novel whispering into a dignitary\u2019s ear at an embassy party that the city is falling to the rebels and a boat will be waiting in the harbor at midnight.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, how did <em>The Times<\/em> address Burns\u2019 connections to Epstein?<\/p>\n<p>Here are the two paragraphs, and let\u2019s see if the audience can catch what <em>The Times<\/em> did incorrectly:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>As Mr. Burns prepared to step down from government service in 2014,\u00a0<em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reported last month, a mutual friend introduced him to Jeffrey Epstein, the financial consultant who would later be convicted of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-teacher-admits-feeding-students-cupcakes-made-with-sperm\/\" title=\"Former Teacher Admits Feeding Students Cupcakes Made with Sperm\">multiple sex crimes<\/a>. A spokeswoman for the C.I.A. said that Mr. Burns met twice with Mr. Epstein, both times to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-york-times-runs-cover-for-bidens-cia-director-jeffrey-epstein\/\" title=\"NYT defends Biden's CIA Director amid Epstein controversy.\">discuss private sector opportunities<\/a>, and did not socialize with him.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to <em>The New York Times<\/em>, Mr. Burns said that he deeply regrets having met with Mr. Epstein and did not know who he was, adding, \u201cI wish I had done my homework first.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The first thing the paper did wrong is incorrectly characterize Epstein\u2019s convictions. The impression left is that Burns met with Epstein prior to any convictions. Yet as mentioned, in 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution and was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-latest-arrest-its-clear-that-drag-queen-story-hour-is-a-haven-for-child-predators\/\" title=\"After Latest Arrest, It\u2019s Clear That \u2018Drag Queen Story Hour\u2019 Is A Haven For Child Predators\">registered sex offender<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The second thing the paper did wrong was that they apparently did not dig for more information and took that excuse at face value.<\/p>\n<p>One can only imagine how that conversation went:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>New York Times: \u201cHey, Mr. CIA Director, why did you meet with Jeffrey Epstein in 2014?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CIA Creep: \u201cI didn\u2019t know who he was. Didn\u2019t do my homework.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New York Times: \u201cWorks for us! Thanks for clearing that up, boss!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Does it give you much confidence that a deputy secretary of state was meeting with sex offenders, unaware of who he was speaking with? Does Burns\u2019 excuse seem believable to you?<\/p>\n<p>The profile goes on to speculate that Burns will be tapped as Biden\u2019s secretary of state in a second term if Biden is re-elected. Ominously, <em>The Times<\/em> also reported that \u201cRichard Armitage, Mr. Burns\u2019s friend and former superior at the State Department, said only, \u2018Whatever the president asks, he\u2019ll do it.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lapdog media outlets such as <em>The Times<\/em> don\u2019t exist to report the truth.
