But when asked how he handles being the target of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nick-cannon-viacomcbs-resume-professional-relationship-after-anti-white-anti-semitic-remarks\/\" title=\"Nick Cannon, ViacomCBS Resume Professional Relationship After Anti-White, Anti-Semitic Remarks\">hateful comments<\/a>, he doubled down.<\/p>\n<p>Pratt, 43, told entertainment outlet Page Six last week that he always thinks back to the story of Jesus and the suffering he endured, which reminds him that for Christians, hatred often comes with the territory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI sure do,\u201d Pratt acknowledged that he got plenty of criticism for being open about his personal faith. \u201cBut that\u2019s nothing new, that\u2019s nothing new, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to quote a scripture that reiterated his point, saying, \u201cIf I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I\u2019ve chosen out of this world. That\u2019s John 15:18 through 20.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too,\u201d he said of Jesus.<\/p>\n<h3>Dealing with Hate Like a Rhino<\/h3>\n<p>Pratt was rounding out a press tour for his latest Marvel film \u2014\u201dGuardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3\u2033 \u2014 at the time, and he also told Page Six that thinking of Jesus\u2019 struggles was only part of his process when it came to dealing with hateful comments.<\/p>\n<p>Saying that the trick was to deal with hate \u201cjust how you deal with anything,\u201d he added, \u201cLike a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their ass!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it comes to rejection, I was trained in the crucible of door-to-door sales some 25 years ago. So, you can\u2019t turn me away,\u201d the \u201cSuper Mario Bros.\u201d actor joked, explaining that his experience as a salesman had actually helped him in his film career. \u201c[Sales] is a very hard job and it\u2019s not dissimilar to acting or at least auditioning. You gotta collect nine \u2018no\u2019s\u2019 to get one \u2018yes.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Success Despite the Haters<\/h3>\n<p>The Pratt-led \u201cSuper Mario Bros,\u201d released the first week in April, was the first 2023 film to gross over $1 billion \u2014 and after just one weekend, \u201cGuardians\u201d has raked in more than $280 million worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the backlash, Chris Pratt remains steadfast in his faith and his career.
