The court has also fined her lawyers $2,000 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-furious-woman-whose-mother-died-in-ny-nursing-home-says-nbc-news-blocked-her-mentioning-cuomos-name\/\" title=\"WATCH: Furious Woman Whose Mother Died In NY Nursing Home Says NBC News Blocked Her Mentioning Cuomo\u2019s Name\">making false claims<\/a> about ballots. <\/p>\n<h3>Remanded Claims Allowed to Proceed to Trial Court<\/h3>\n<p>Previously, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ca-churches-finally-got-help-from-scotus-and-it-was-a-huge-blow-to-gavin-newsom\/\" title=\"CA Churches Finally Got Help from SCOTUS and It Was a Huge Blow to Gavin Newsom\">court remanded<\/a> one of Lake&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-pushed-doj-officials-to-back-claims-that-the-election-was-stolen-documents-show\/\" title=\"Trump Pushed DOJ Officials To Back Claims That The Election Was Stolen, Documents Show\">election-related claims<\/a> to trial court and allowed sanctions to be considered against her. Lake&#8217;s claim that Maricopa County violated its signature verification rules during last year&#8217;s election was allowed to proceed to trial court after it was improperly dismissed by a lower court. <\/p>\n<h3>Fine for False Claims<\/h3>\n<p>Lake&#8217;s lawyers were fined $2,000 for making &#8220;unequivocally false&#8221; claims that more than 35,000 ballots were &#8220;injected&#8221; into Maricopa County&#8217;s total after the midterm election finished. Lake&#8217;s lawyers in March said that those ballots were added to the total at a third-party processing facility, while noting that Lake lost to now-Gov. Katie Hobbs by 17,000 votes. <\/p>\n<h3>Disputed Claims<\/h3>\n<p>Lake&#8217;s attorneys said the chain of custody for ballots was broken at an off-site facility where a contractor scans mail-in ballots to prepare them for processing. The lawyers asserted that workers put their own mail-in ballots into the pile rather than returning them through normal channels, and that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizona-supreme-court-orders-hearing-on-kari-lakes-signature-verification-case\/\" title=\"Kari Lake's Signature Verification Case to be Heard by Arizona Supreme Court.\">paperwork documenting ballot transfers<\/a> was missing. Maricopa County disputes the claims. <\/p>\n<h3>Denial of Requests for Legal Sanctions<\/h3>\n<p>The court denied requests by Hobbs and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, both Democrats, to seek more legal sanctions over Lake&#8217;s allegations. <\/p>\n<h3>Rules of Attorney Ethics Apply<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Sometimes campaigns and their attendant hyperbole spill over into legal challenges.
