He addressed the lack of truth in the media landscape and a &#8220;manufactured&#8221; national division.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manufactured-media-lies-can-end-democracy-tucker-carlson-makes-first-in-person-speech-after-departing-from-fox\/\" title=\"Tucker Carlson warns of media lies threatening democracy in first speech since leaving Fox.\">private fundraiser event organized<\/a> by Rainbow Omega, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/these-are-the-most-important-races-to-watch-in-2022\/\" title=\"These Are The Most Important Races To Watch In 2022\">faith-based nonprofit<\/a> that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Carlson received a 15-second standing ovation from a full house at the 1,215-seat Oxford Performing Arts Centre on Thursday.<\/p>\n<h3>Manufactured Division<\/h3>\n<p>According to Carlson, what he witnessed at Rainbow Omega&#8217;s facility stood in stark contrast to his experiences with American politics and the media industry. He believes that American politics is supposed to be designed to improve people&#8217;s lives, but the ideas promulgated in the public sphere aren&#8217;t only irrelevant to Americans&#8217; everyday concerns but also designed to divide.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson said that he&#8217;s starting to believe that the divisions that we see in our society are pretty much manufactured. One example of this is the idea of racism. He believes that most Americans don&#8217;t hate each other on the basis of their ethnic differences, and a lot of that is just a lie designed to distract people.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson lamented that the cause of this division is what he has observed to be &#8220;propaganda&#8221; published by the &#8220;overwhelming majority&#8221; of American media. He believes that the media is not only not addressing the issues that matter but also going out of their way to ignore them. He thinks that at some point, you have to call it what it is, which is lying.<\/p>\n<h3>End of Democracy<\/h3>\n<p>Carlson indicated that the democratic system cannot function with dishonesty dominating the public sphere. The whole idea of democracy is based on the understanding that the people who vote will have some knowledge of what they&#8217;re voting on, what the real issues are, and they&#8217;ll be informed citizens.<\/p>\n<p>But when the media industry is collectively excluding issues that matter, such as crime, immigration, and the economy, the population becomes uninformed, which undermines a fundamental part of democracy. The harm brought by the media industry is compounded by a lack of authenticity from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-football-analogy-to-explain-democrats-election-cheating\/\" title=\"A Football Analogy to Explain Democrats' Election Cheating\">entire federal government<\/a>, including politicians from both political parties, Carlson said.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson&#8217;s speech was an hour-long, and he didn&#8217;t directly address the situation with Fox News.
