Paul, you do not know what you\u2019re talking about. And I want to say that officially: You do not know what you\u2019re talking about!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>   After jousting a few more times in Senate hearings, Paul kept asking important questions that no reporter was ever going to ask about the U.S. National Institute of Health\u2019s alleged involvement with the Wuhan lab in China.<\/p>\n<p> Fauci just kept saying, pretty much every time, that the senator didn\u2019t know what he was talking about.<\/p>\n<p> Then we learned Paul knew what he was talking about.<\/p>\n<p>   While the supposed \u2018conspiracy theory\u2019\u00a0summarily known as the \u2018lab leak theory\u2019 has not been proven to be the origin of COVID-19, it\u2019s now believed to be the likeliest cause of the pandemic by many, including the Department of Energy.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cNew intelligence has prompted the Energy Department to conclude that an accidental laboratory leak in China most likely caused the coronavirus pandemic,\u201d the Times reported in February, \u201cthough U.S. spy agencies remain divided over the origins of the virus, American officials said on Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> In a broad interview about the pandemic and its legacy released this week, Sen. Paul told Free the People\u2019s Matt Kibbe (who is on the board of BASEDPolitics) that Democrats have been humbly admitting to him and other Republicans that they might have got some of the pandemic narrative wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> On Fauci and gain-of-function research in particular.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cEven now, Democrats are quietly coming to us, they know the consensus is switching on this,\u201d Paul said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  \u201cThey still don\u2019t want to be part of it because Fauci\u2019s the leader of the Democrat party now for them,\u201d Paul told Kibbe. \u201cHe\u2019s this icon and they don\u2019t want to do anything that tarnishes him. And they see it as a partisan effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Paul continued, \u201cThey\u2019re coming quietly to me and saying, \u2018well, we probably would work on a bill to maybe regulate gain-of-function research, how taxpayer dollars are spent on this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Kibbe observed, \u201cArrogance isn\u2019t a strong enough word for this kind of central planning, manipulating human existence itself. I can\u2019t think of a strong enough word to explain how insane that sounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Rand Paul replied, \u201cThere\u2019s a healthy dose of arrogance and elitism in all of this, of any kind, sort of central planning. In several of the exchanges with Fauci I would say \u2018show some humility, man.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> \u201cNot exactly like that, but have some humility,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p> Like this article?
