The House Republicans are investigating the effort to <a title=\"Brennan and Clapper to testify to House panel about Hunter Biden laptop letter.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-intelligence-heads-brennan-clapper-to-testify-to-house-panel-over-role-in-hunter-biden-laptop-letter\/\">discredit negative stories<\/a> about President Joe Biden&#8217;s son right before the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>A representative from the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), confirmed to The Epoch Times that it will conduct a <a title=\"GOP Reps Call on Top Biden Admin Officials To Testify on Bungled Afghanistan Withdrawal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-reps-call-on-top-biden-admin-officials-to-testify-on-bungled-afghanistan-withdrawal\/\">transcribed interview<\/a> with Brennan on May 11 and Clapper on May 17.<\/p>\n<p>Brennan and Clapper, both longtime government officials, were harsh critics of former President Donald Trump and held their most recent jobs under former President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>The pair were among the 51 ex<a title=\"Report Highlights 13 Of The Top Terrorists That Are Now In Top Positions In Taliban Government\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-highlights-13-of-the-top-terrorists-that-are-now-in-top-positions-in-taliban-government\/\">&#8211;<\/a><a title=\"Biden\u2019s CIA Pick Was President Of Think Tank That Took Millions From Chinese Communist Party-Tied Entities: Report\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-cia-pick-was-president-of-think-tank-that-took-millions-from-chinese-communist-party-tied-entities-report\/\">intelligence officials<\/a> who signed the October 2020 letter (pdf) discouraging confidence in the content of Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop. This letter helped spread the now-proven false idea that the stories about the laptop&#8217;s content were just Russian disinformation, an idea that Biden&#8217;s 2020 campaign promoted.<\/p>\n<p>Controversy has continued to swirl over the open letter that Clapper, Brennan, and former CIA deputy director Michael Morell signed, along with 48 other former intelligence officials.
