Katherine Clark&#8217;s Child Sentenced for Vandalism and Assault<\/h2>\n<h3>A Year of Probation and Apology Letter Ordered<\/h3>\n<p>Rep. Katherine Clark&#8217;s (D., Mass.) child, Riley Dowell, was sentenced on Wednesday for vandalism and assaulting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/daunte-wright-protester-goes-viral-winks-while-holding-can-of-soup-its-for-my-family\/\" title=\"Daunte Wright Protester Goes Viral, Winks While Holding Can Of Soup: \u2018It\u2019s For My Family\u2019\">police officer earlier<\/a> this year. Dowell, who identifies as &#8220;non-binary,&#8221; graffitied a Boston monument with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-police-chief-leads-gretchen-whitmer-in-governors-race-poll\/\" title=\"Former Police Chief Leads Gretchen Whitmer In Governor\u2019s Race: Poll\">anti-police slogans<\/a> and gave police officer Daniel Roca a bloody nose when he responded to the crime. Dowell must also repay the city for cleaning the graffiti, which included phrases such as &#8220;No Cop City&#8221; and &#8220;ACAB.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Clark, who is the Democrats&#8217; House minority whip, tweeted that &#8220;this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting&#8221; following the incident. The officer &#8220;was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth,&#8221; according to a police report. Dowell was released on Jan. 24 after paying a $500 bail.<\/p>\n<h3>Clark&#8217;s Views on Police Reform<\/h3>\n<p>Clark has been an advocate for police reform and has spoken out against racism and police brutality. In August 2020, she said, &#8220;Until we take action against racism and police brutality, tragedies will continue.&#8221; In a March 2021 tweet, Clark said that no &#8220;single policy&#8221; can &#8220;erase the decades of systemic racism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that Clark removed a post from her site in the days following her child&#8217;s arrest that advocated defunding the police.
