However, the Community Notes feature added some context to the situation by providing a list of times when the U.S. defaulted on its debts, including three times during Biden&#8217;s lifetime.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1968<\/li>\n<li>1971<\/li>\n<li>1979<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interestingly, the final default happened after Biden took office in the Senate. This isn&#8217;t the first time the president has been fact-checked on Twitter, either. <\/p>\n<h3>Fact-Checking on Twitter<\/h3>\n<p>The Community Notes feature allows readers to upload links for fact-checking and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/psaki-were-not-always-best-on-messaging-to-everyone-on-vaccines-for-conservatives-we-contacted-nascar\/\" title=\"Psaki: We\u2019re Not Always Best On Messaging To Everyone On Vaccines, For Conservatives We Contacted NASCAR\">provide accurate information<\/a>. In a previous instance, Biden was fact-checked on Twitter before the 2022 midterm elections in November. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the addition of the notes, both tweets remain on the platform. However, Biden&#8217;s following has continued to grow, with over 30.7 million Twitter followers as of now.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear that Twitter&#8217;s new fact-checking feature is here to stay, and it will be interesting to see how it affects political discourse on the platform in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden found himself at the wrong end of Twitter&#8217;s fact-checking &#8220;Community Notes&#8221; function on Tuesday.
