Despite the diagnosis, Menounos said that \u201cGod granted\u201d her a \u201cmiracle.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Decade-Long Struggle<\/h3>\n<p>Menounos, who has hosted shows like \u201cExtra\u201d and \u201cE! Then in 2022, she suffered from leg cramps and was diagnosed with type one diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was feeling so good, and then I got slapped in the face with a new diagnosis,\u201d Menounos said of the pain she experienced last June. \u201cI\u2019d scream out loud, I was inconsolable.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Painful Journey<\/h3>\n<p>Menounos said that after being diagnosed and taking insulin, she \u201cwas crushing it\u201d by October. However, a month later, she experienced \u201cexcruciating abdominal pain coupled with diarrhea\u201d that put her back in the hospital. She underwent more thorough testing, which revealed she had a tumor on her pancreas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018How in the freaking world can I have a brain tumor and pancreatic cancer?&#8217;\u201d the TV host said. \u201cAll I could think was that I have a baby coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In February, she underwent surgery to have the tumor removed and called the recovery \u201csuper painful,\u201d adding, \u201cI couldn\u2019t move or lift myself up.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Grateful Recovery<\/h3>\n<p>Despite the challenges, Menounos said she\u2019d been given an optimistic diagnosis and did not need chemotherapy or additional treatment, just annual scans over the next few years. She said she\u2019s \u201cso grateful and so lucky\u201d and did not take her soon-to-be newborn baby for granted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGod granted me a miracle.
