According to Forbes, Stephen Deckoff, founder of private equity firm Black Diamond Capital Management, bought the islands for $60 million, which is approximately half of their initial asking price.<\/p>\n<h3>Plans for a Five-Star Luxury Resort<\/h3>\n<p>Deckoff has never met Epstein and had never been on the island until after Epstein was found dead in his jail cell in 2019. He made the purchase through his investment firm SD Investments LLC and plans to build &#8220;a state-of-the-art, five-star, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/billionaire-buys-jeffrey-epsteins-infamous-island-plans-to-turn-it-into-a-luxury-resort-report\/\" title=\"Billionaire purchases Epstein's island, intends to transform it into a high-end resort.\">world-class luxury 25-room resort<\/a>&#8221; on the two islands &#8211; 70-acre Little St. James and 160-acre Great St. James. He aims to have the job completed in 2025 and is currently in the process of hiring architects and engineers.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the resort would &#8220;help bolster tourism, create jobs, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-scott-says-americans-deserve-better\/\" title=\"Sen.
