State Sen. Dave Min, who is vying to replace Rep. Katie Porter in the House as she runs for a Senate seat, was cited for a misdemeanor for driving under the influence. In a post on Facebook, Min accepted full responsibility for his actions and apologized to his family, constituents, and supporters.<\/p>\n<h3>Min&#8217;s Background and Campaign<\/h3>\n<p>Min, a former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-professor-thinks-his-students-cheated-so-hes-suing-them\/\" title=\"A Professor Thinks His Students Cheated, So He\u2019s Suing Them\">business law professor<\/a> at UC Irvine, lost a 2018 primary bid for the U.S. House seat that Porter went on to win that year. He then ran and got elected to the state Senate in 2020. Min&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-seat-in-longtime-ohio-democrat-stronghold-shifting-to-gop\/\" title=\"House Seat in Longtime Ohio Democrat Stronghold Shifting to GOP\">campaign website touts<\/a> his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-democrat-running-for-porters-house-seat-admits-to-dui\/\" title=\"CA Democrat running for Porter's seat admits to DUI.\">legislative record featuring bills focused<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-judiciary-chairman-says-gun-control-is-top-priority\/\" title=\"Senate Judiciary Chairman Says Gun Control Is \u2018Top Priority\u2019\">gun violence prevention<\/a> and the climate. He is a first-generation Korean-American and is running for Congress to create a better California for the children of Orange County.<\/p>\n<p>Porter has endorsed Min to replace her, saying he has &#8220;proven that he can win in this area while delivering on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-hispanic-voters-in-florida-who-fled-dictatorships-think-the-election-was-stolen-from-trump\/\" title=\"REPORT: Hispanic Voters In Florida Who Fled Dictatorships Think The Election Was Stolen From Trump\">progressive agenda<\/a> with real results.&#8221; Two other prominent House Democrats, Reps. Adam Schiff and Barbara Lee, have announced campaigns to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Contenders for Porter&#8217;s Seat<\/h3>\n<p>A number of people have announced campaigns for Porter&#8217;s seat in the 2024 race. Among them is former state Assembly member Scott Baugh, a Republican. Another contender had been former Rep.
