Whitmer\u2019s Efforts to Shut Off Key Oil Pipeline as Energy Crisis Explodes\">potential economic impacts<\/a> if lawmakers fail to act on the<br \/>\n        <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/debt-ceiling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/even-with-full-control-of-government-democrats-massive-wish-list-is-stalling\/\" title=\"Even With Full Control Of Government, Democrats\u2019 Massive Wish List Is Stalling\">debt ceiling<\/a><\/a>.\n      <\/p>\n<h3>Vance Railway Safety Bill Debate Tests More Populist, Blue-Collar GOP<\/h3>\n<p>\n        Last week, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) narrowly passed a bill to raise the U.S. debt ceiling, hoping President Joe Biden would compromise.\n      <\/p>\n<p>\n        \u201cHouse Republicans have done something very simple, but I think very profound: they\u2019ve advanced a program that pays the country\u2019s debts while putting the country on a more sustainable path financially,\u201d Vance said at the conference. \u201cAnd what Joe Biden has done is refuse to negotiate from the very beginning.\u201d\n      <\/p>\n<p>\n        In a report titled &#8220;The Potential Economic Impacts of Various Debt Ceiling Scenarios,&#8221; the White House warned that failing to raise or suspend the debt limit could lead to a recession, potentially putting the country in worse shape than in 2008.\n      <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The report stated that default leads to deep, immediate recessionary conditions.<\/li>\n<li>A lack of action could lead to an increase in borrowing costs and to taxpayers and hurt the nation&#8217;s overall economic confidence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n        \u201cI guarantee you: All 217 Republicans who voted for it didn\u2019t like at least one thing in the package, but they came together because paying the country\u2019s debts and doing our job as leadership is more important than any single person,\u201d Vance said.\n      <\/p>\n<p>\n        Vance has condemned Democrats&#8217; idleness over the debt ceiling in previous months, saying all the GOP is asking is a bipartisan effort to get the country back on track financially.\n      <\/p>\n<p>\n        \u201cThe irresponsible thing is to do nothing, which is unfortunately exactly what the Democrats are proposing,\u201d Vance said on Fox in February.\n      <\/p>\n<p>\n        <b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/b>\n      <\/p>\n<p>\n        While prominent GOP leaders are targeting the Biden administration for withholding negotiations, the White House has strongly opposed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jd-vance-calls-out-biden-as-white-house-issues-warning-of-recession\/\" title=\"Vance criticizes Biden as White House warns of recession.\">current debt plan version<\/a>.\n      <\/p>\n<div id=\"dsk-banner-ad-g\"><\/div>\n<p>\n        \u201cJoe Biden should take a cue from congressional Republicans,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;Show some leadership; come to the table.
