The new AI tool was created by experts at the Royal Marsden NHS foundation trust, the Institute of Cancer Research, London, and Imperial College London. It can identify nodules\u2019 risk of cancer at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/covid-19-pandemic-drives-record-breaking-number-of-drug-overdoses\/\" title=\"COVID-19 Pandemic Drives \u2018Record Breaking\u2019 Number Of Drug Overdoses\">significantly higher rates<\/a> than current tests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the future, we hope it will improve early detection and potentially make cancer treatment more successful by highlighting high-risk patients and fast-tracking them to earlier intervention,\u201d said Dr. Benjamin Hunter, a clinical oncology registrar at the Royal Marsden and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cdc-quietly-updates-data-removes-24-of-child-covid-deaths\/\" title=\"CDC Quietly Updates Data, Removes 24% of Child COVID Deaths\">clinical research fellow<\/a> at Imperial.<\/p>\n<h3>Pushing Boundaries to Speed Up Detection of Cancer<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThrough this work, we hope to push boundaries to speed up the detection of the disease using innovative technologies such as AI,\u201d said the study\u2019s chief investigator, Dr. Richard Lee. \u201cPeople diagnosed with lung cancer at the earliest stage are much more likely to survive for five years, when compared with those whose cancer is caught late. This means it is a priority we find ways to speed up the detection of the disease, and this study \u2013 which is the first to develop a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-ai-tool-predicts-cancers-better-may-catch-them-far-earlier\/\" title=\"New AI Tool Predicts Cancers Better, May Catch Them Far Earlier\">radiomics model specifically focused<\/a> on large lung nodules \u2013 could one day support clinicians in identifying high-risk patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To measure the effectiveness of the new tool, its accuracy was measured using a standard called area under the curve (AUC). The new tool scored an AUC of 0.87, as opposed to the currently-used Brock score, which had an AUC of 0.67.<\/p>\n<h3>AI-Powered Database Designed Potential Drug to Treat HCC<\/h3>\n<p>In January, the University of Toronto reported that researchers using an AI-powered database designed in a mere 30 days a potential drug to treat HCC, the most common type of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-basically-nuked-a-town-with-chemicals-critics-blast-detonation-from-train-derailment\/\" title=\"\u2018We Basically Nuked A Town With Chemicals\u2019: Critics Blast Detonation From Train Derailment\">primary liver cancer<\/a>.
