The three bills are designed to keep criminals off the streets and protect the safety of Floridians.<\/p>\n<h3>The Three Bills<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2023\/05\/01\/governor-ron-desantis-signs-third-consecutive-anti-crime-pro-public-safety-legislative-package\/\">House Bill 1627<\/a> targets bail reforms being pushed by leftist prosecutors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/as-competent-at-this-as-she-has-been-securing-the-southern-border-crenshaw-rips-biden-directing-kamala-to-fight-gop-voter-bills\/\" title=\"\u2018As Competent At This As She Has Been Securing The Southern Border\u2019: Crenshaw Rips Biden Directing Kamala To Fight GOP Voter Bills\">increases penalties<\/a> on fentanyl traffickers, and makes those who commit certain crimes against children eligible for the death penalty.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2023\/05\/01\/governor-ron-desantis-signs-third-consecutive-anti-crime-pro-public-safety-legislative-package\/\">House Bill 1359<\/a> increases criminal penalties on those who traffic \u201crainbow fentanyl\u201d by making those who traffic such substances eligible for a life sentence and imposing a minimum 25 year sentence and a $1 million penalty and making it a first-degree felony to possess, sell, or manufacture fentanyl and other controlled substances that resemble candy.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2023\/05\/01\/governor-ron-desantis-signs-third-consecutive-anti-crime-pro-public-safety-legislative-package\/\">House Bill 1297<\/a> imposes the death penalty on pedophiles who \u201ccommit sexual battery against children under the age of 12.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cFlorida is a law-and-order state with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-proposes-bill-making-child-rapists-face-life-in-prison-or-death-penalty-cracking-down-on-drug-crime\/\" title=\"DeSantis Proposes Bill Making Child Rapists Face Life In Prison Or Death Penalty, Cracking Down On Drug Crime\">50-year record low crime rate<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/home-prices-up-16-annually-but-sales-finally-begin-to-slow\/\" title=\"Home Prices Up 16% Annually, But Sales Finally Begin To Slow\">double-digit year-<\/a>over-year decreases in murder, burglary, and overall crime,\u201d DeSantis said in a statement. \u201cFor three consecutive legislative sessions we have enacted tough-on-crime policies, and this year we are continuing to implement measures to protect our communities and keep Florida safe, with a particular emphasis on keeping criminals in jail and throwing the book at pedophiles.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>House Bill 1627<\/h3>\n<p>House Bill 1627 addresses \u201cbail reforms\u201d through a variety of actions, including requiring the Florida Supreme Court to develop a uniform statewide bond schedule by the end of the year. The bill prohibits judges from setting a lower bond amount than the uniform state bond, prohibits a defendant from being released prior to their first appearance in court if they have been arrested for a violent or heinous crime, and adds a series of crimes to the state\u2019s list of \u201cdangerous crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>House Bill 1359<\/h3>\n<p>House Bill 1359 increases criminal penalties on those who traffic \u201crainbow fentanyl\u201d by making those who traffic such substances eligible for a life sentence and imposing a minimum 25 year sentence and a $1 million penalty and making it a first-degree felony to possess, sell, or manufacture fentanyl and other controlled substances that resemble candy.<\/p>\n<h3>House Bill 1297<\/h3>\n<p>DeSantis also signed House Bill 1297 into law which imposes the death penalty on pedophiles who \u201ccommit sexual battery against children under the age of 12,\u201d the governor\u2019s office said.
