Ramaswamy made the perfectly rational point that \u201cbelow the age of 18, I think it&#8217;s perfectly legitimate to say that we won\u2019t allow genital mutilation or chemical castration through puberty blockers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Todd jumped in to take issue with that stance, claiming that there is a lot of scientific research that says gender is a spectrum. In reality, there isn\u2019t one example of actual, legitimate scientific research that proves gender is a spectrum and isn\u2019t a binary.<\/p>\n<p>Ramaswamy was much too polite and tolerant toward Todd when he told him he \u201crespectfully disagree[d],\u201d and explained that \u201cGender Dysphoria for most of our history all the way through the DSM-5 has been characterized as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-covid-30-americans-pack-on-the-pounds-during-covid-19-new-report-says\/\" title=\"The COVID 30: Americans Pack On The Pounds During COVID-19, New Report Says\">mental health disorder<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then made the point that it\u2019s cruel to indulge in the delusions of those with Gender Dysphoria and instead suggested they get help. \u201cLet&#8217;s be compassionate and get to the heart of that rather than playing this game as though we\u2019re actually changing our medical understanding for the last hundred years,\u201d Ramaswamy noted.<\/p>\n<p>Todd interjected to advocate children getting their genitals mutilated or chemically castrated to prevent them from committing suicide. This is a common form of emotional blackmail that trans activists use to coerce their opponents into giving in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;ve created a culture that teaches parents that they&#8217;re being bigoted or that they\u2019re bad people if they don&#8217;t actually take those steps,\u201d Ramaswamy explained. \u201cGender Dysphoria for the rare few people who\u2019ve suffered it, is a condition of suffering,\u201d he added. \u201cMy question is why on Earth are we going out of our way to create even more of it? And there&#8217;s no doubt that the cultural movement in the country, even education is creating more gender dysphoria if it&#8217;s a condition of suffering, let&#8217;s not create more of it. Again, how do you know? Are you confident that you know that gender is as binary as you&#8217;re describing it? Are you confident?<\/p>\n<p>RAMASWAMY: I am.<\/p>\n<p>TODD: That there isn\u2019t a spectrum?<\/p>\n<p>RAMASWAMY: I am.<\/p>\n<p>TODD: Do you know this as a scientist?<\/p>\n<p>RAMASWAMY: Well, there\u2019s two X chromosomes if you&#8217;re a woman, and an X and a Y that means you\u2019re a man\u2014<\/p>\n[crosstalk]\n<p>TODD: There is a lot of scientific research that says gender is a spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>RAMASWAMY: Chuck, I respectfully disagree. Gender Dysphoria for most of our history all the way through the DSM-5 has been characterized as a mental health disorder and I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s compassionate to affirm that. I think that\u2019s cruelty. When a kid is crying out for help, what they\u2019re asking for is\u2014you\u2019ve got to ask the question of what else is going wrong at home. What else is going wrong at school let&#8217;s be compassionate and get to the heart of that rather than playing this game as though we\u2019re actually changing our medical understanding for the last hundred years.<\/p>\n<p>TODD: I go back to this if a parent is dealing with a child that has these\u2014that may have these issues, trust me, the parent\u2014the last thing they want to do is consider something like this, but if that is what they think could help their child pursue happiness or not to kill themselves, I\u2014why take away that option? Again, why shouldn&#8217;t it be up to the parent?<\/p>\n<p>RAMASWAMY: So\u2014part of why parents now suddenly feel that way. Let\u2019s ask ourselves that Chuck\u2014is we&#8217;ve created a culture that teaches parents that they&#8217;re being bigoted or that they\u2019re bad people if they don&#8217;t actually take those steps. So part of what I think is\u2014listen, Gender Dysphoria for the rare few people who\u2019ve suffered it, is a condition of suffering. This was on full display during NBC&#8217;s Meet the Press when Chuck Todd went head-to-head with GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy over something as simple as second-grade biology.
