G<\/span>ov. Chris Sununu<\/a> (R-NH) said the Republican Party<\/a> must look at the 2024 election<\/a> in light of \u201cteam wins.\u201d <\/p>\n

While speaking with Sunday Night in America With Trey Gowdy,<\/i> Sununu said he is not opposed to his own 2024 presidential bid but has yet to make a decision. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy mission right now is to make the party bigger and to show a better sense of itself. I want these young disenfranchised voters \u2014 young, disenfranchised Republicans that have left the party to get back on the team. I want independents to get back on the team,\u201d Sununu said. \u201cI want folks to realize while we have a great product of limited government and local control and low taxes and all these great things, we tend to lead with things that tick people off and drive them away.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to show the best opportunity for Republicans. If that means me getting on the stage and I can do that in the best way, I\u2019m going to do it. I think that would be a lot of fun,\u201d the governor continued. \u201cIf I can be a better helper and more of a team player by helping other candidates, I\u2019m going to do that as well\u2026 It\u2019s really about where we can best have team wins for the party. If you\u2019re not a team player, you don\u2019t deserve to be in this business at this level.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sununu warned that if the GOP field becomes overcrowded, former President Donald Trump<\/a> could win the Republican nomination but lose in the final election. <\/p>\n

The New Hampshire<\/a> governor also said every candidate should show up to debate, slamming Trump\u2019s recent indication that he may opt out. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one thing to say you\u2019re a fighter, but how can you say you\u2019re a fighter if you\u2019re not willing to get into the ring,\u201d Sununu said. \u201cI understand a lot of Republicans want to support him because he is getting beat up by the DA that is a politically driven \u2014 I agree with all of that \u2014 but you don\u2019t support former President Trump at the expense of elections, at the expense of Senate candidates or governor candidates, or the opportunity to bring good government.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s going to have to stand on the debate stage and make that case for himself,\u201d Sununu added. <\/p>\n

Sununu has been critical of Trump<\/a>, saying the former president \u201cdrags the ticket down\u201d for Republicans\u2019 2024 bid to retake the White House.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
