Newsom lifts Calif. lockdown orders amid mounting backlash\">recent interview<\/a> with The Wall Street Journal, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito disclosed that he believes the leak of the court&#8217;s decision on overturning Roe v. Wade made the justices targets for possible assassination. Alito, who authored the landmark Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization decision that ruled there is no constitutional right to abortion, stated that he has a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-ga-voter-turnout-low-on-election-day\/\" title=\"Report: Ga. voter turnout low on election day\">pretty good<\/a>&#8221; idea who was behind the leak, but the evidence was not strong enough for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bill-to-create-rush-limbaugh-day-approved-by-missouris-gop-led-house\/\" title=\"Bill To Create \u2018Rush Limbaugh Day\u2019 Approved By Missouri\u2019s GOP-Led House\">official designation<\/a> of guilt.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Danger of the Leak<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alito emphasized that the leak not only brought an environment of &#8220;suspicion and distrust,&#8221; but also danger. &#8220;Those of us who were thought to be in the majority, thought to have approved my draft opinion, were really targets of assassination,&#8221; Alito said. &#8220;It was rational for people to believe that they might be able to stop the decision in Dobbs by killing one of us.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Infuriating Accusations<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alito also expressed his frustration with the accusations that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-calls-new-yorks-covid-19-restrictions-discriminatory-sides-with-religious-leaders\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Calls New York\u2019s COVID-19 Restrictions \u2018Discriminatory,\u2019 Sides With Religious Leaders\">conservative justice<\/a> may have leaked the decision. &#8220;Look, this made us targets of assassination. Would I do that to myself? Would the five of us have done that to ourselves? It&#8217;s quite implausible,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Court&#8217;s Decision<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Despite the pressure, the Supreme Court ultimately voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.
