The Accused Just Won A ,000 Settlement.\">close friends<\/a> for years, both agreed that strategy is necessary and effective when trying to achieve something in politics, even with issues like abortion. Sometimes, Shapiro argued, incremental policy changes are the most effective route, and can do more good than pushing a policy that could backfire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">it\u2019s really a question of what means are sufficient to achieve the ends,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cAnd I feel the same way about things like abortion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIf you just turn up the volume all the way,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0that\u2019s how you achieve the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-democrat-politicians-who-claimed-voter-fraud-after-elections\/\" title=\"5 Democrat Politicians Who Claimed \u2018Voter Fraud\u2019 After Elections\">desired effect<\/a>. And I just don\u2019t see that that\u2019s the case,\u201d he continued. \u201cI think that in states like Florida, which is a very <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-newsom-lifts-calif-lockdown-orders-amid-mounting-backlash\/\" title=\"Gov. Newsom lifts Calif. lockdown orders amid mounting backlash\">conservative state<\/a>, now, you can do a six<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/vogue-magazine-help-freezing-texans-by-paying-for-their-travel-to-get-an-abortion\/\" title=\"Vogue Magazine: Help Freezing Texans By Paying For Their Travel To Get An Abortion\">-week abortion ban<\/a>. But if you try to push that in Kansas, what you\u2019re going to end up with is abortion across the board again.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I think you have to actually tailor your message to the audience, and yeah, get people used to things over the course of time, because not everybody thinks like you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cPolitics isn\u2019t the only battlefield,\u201d Klavan interjected. \u201cSome battles you win politically and some you win culturally. You know, obviously I think both you and I would like to see every abortion stop, but you win the fight you can win today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAnd more than that, you prevent the loss,\u201d Shapiro said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou save the life,\u201d Klavan responded. \u201cThat\u2019s right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI got slammed for this just the other day,\u201d he continued. \u201cPeople, weirdly, especially Christians \u2014 I mean, Christ said you got to be as sly as a serpent. But they were saying, \u2018No! You can\u2019t compromise. Even if you lose, you win because you become righteous and you go to heaven.\u2019 Which is the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Left\u2019s idea that their intention is the only thing that matters. Of course you have to have strategy and of course you have to fight.\u201d<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>2024 Presidential Election<\/h3>\n<p>The pair then touched on former President Donald Trump running for president in 2024. Shapiro argued that conservatives should back the person who has the best chance to win the general election, and he doesn\u2019t believe that person is Trump.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI was talking to somebody about this, and he was acknowledging all these points, including the idea that [Trump] was more likely to lose the general than, say, [Ron] DeSantis or Brian Kemp \u2026 a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd he said, but I love the guy and I\u2019m gonna vote for him. And I said, \u2018Well this isn\u2019t a dating show.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">t\u2019s your job to have gratitude for people, for politicians who do the right thing,\u201d Shapiro added. \u201cIt\u2019s <em>not<\/em> your job to be loyal to them. It\u2019s their job to be loyal to <em>you<\/em>. They\u2019re your representative.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Transgenderism<\/h3>\n<p>On transgenderism, Klavan said the Right is making the \u201cwrong argument.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur argument is <em>not<\/em> that men and women are different, because obviously men and women are different. But there\u2019s a lot of things in nature that we don\u2019t like [that] we change,\u201d he argued. \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">People get cancer in nature, people get all kinds of handicaps. We fix them, right?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhat we\u2019re saying is that men and women are different and that is a\u00a0<em>good<\/em>. And in order to make that argument, you really have to make the argument for created order,\u201d the author said. \u201cI<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">f we don\u2019t bring that idea back fearlessly \u2026 we lose this argument.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Klavan said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/andrew-klavan-ben-shapiro-talk-trump-political-strategy-transgenderism-more-on-the-search\/\" title=\"Andrew Klavan, Ben Shapiro Talk Trump, Political \u2018Strategy,\u2019 Transgenderism &#038; More On \u2018The Search\u2019\">transgender activists aren\u2019<\/a>t really saying that men and women are different, they\u2019re saying that those differences are bad. \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And what we\u2019re saying is no, that\u2019s part of the created order, and it is good because the Creator is good,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s our only argument.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The pair also discussed masculinity, fatherhood, baseball, and a whole host of other issues.
