Incoming NYC Schools Chancellor Backs Claim That America Was \u2018Built On Lies\u2019 \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/incoming-nyc-schools-chancellor-backs-claim-that-america-was-built-on-lies\/\"><strong>Washington Free Beacon<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>The incoming chancellor of the New York City public schools believes America was \u201cbuilt on lies\u201d and is currently entrenched in lawsuits that allege she discriminated against white school administrators. New York City\u2019s Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio tapped Bronx Superintendent Meisha Ross Porter to become the new chancellor. In a tweet obtained by The Washington Free Beacon, Porter \u201cquote-tweeted\u201d the thoughts of a New York University professor who advocated for critical race theory, the theory that claims America is inherently and irredeemably racist.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>9. Cornell Renames English Department To \u2018Department Of Literature In English\u2019 As Part Of \u2018Decolonization Efforts\u2019 \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=16849\"><strong>Campus Reform<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>Cornell University officially changed the \u201cDepartment of English\u201d to the \u201cDepartment of Literatures in English\u201d in an attempt at fighting racism. In November, an English Department faculty member claimed that the rebranding would help Ivy League students avoid any \u201cconflation of English as a language and English as a nationality.\u201d The faculty overwhelmingly approved the measure and the Board of Trustees approved the new name in January.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>8. BYU \u2018Rooting Out Racism\u2019 Task Force Calls For \u2018Race-Conscious\u2019 Religious Curriculum, Admissions Standards \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/byu-rooting-out-racism-task-force-calls-for-race-conscious-religious-curriculum-admissions-standards\"><strong>The Daily Wire<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>A task force at Brigham Young University is calling on the school to develop a new \u201crace-conscious\u201d religious curriculum and admissions standards. A nine-member committee at BYU was tasked with making recommendations to the university on how it can improve racial equality on campus. The committee presented its findings in a 63-page report to the university\u2019s president.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>7. Cleveland State Professor Is Indoctrinating The Next Generation Of Educators With Critical Race Theory \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/05\/cleveland-state-professor-is-indoctrinating-the-next-generation-of-educators-with-critical-race-theory\/\"><strong>The Federalist<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>An education professor at Cleveland State University is forcing critical race theory on the nation\u2019s next generation of educators. In an education class taught by professor Molly Feghali, students were taught that using the word \u201cghetto\u201d is racist and being \u201canti-racist\u201d is the only way forward. An assignment prompt asked students to \u201ccreate a graphical representation of how prejudice, discrimination, implicit bias, power, oppression, and socialization are interrelated and impact the isms.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>6. L.A. Teachers Union Claims California Is \u2018Propagating Structural Racism\u2019 By Reopening Schools \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/la-teachers-union-claims-california-is-propagating-structural-racism-by-reopening-schools\"><strong>The Daily Wire<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>The United Teachers of Los Angeles, California\u2019s largest teachers union, assailed Governor Gavin Newsom\u2019s plan for a statewide transition back to in-person learning as \u201cpropagating structural racism,\u201d and demanded that schools remain shuttered until all teachers and staff are fully vaccinated.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>5. College Course Titled \u2018Radical Jesus\u2019 Examines Jesus As \u2018Nonbinary\u2019 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=16930\">Campus Reform\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span>A religious studies professor at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania is teaching a class on his book, which claims that Jesus was \u201cnonbinary.\u201d The professor teaches a course called \u201cRadical Jesus,\u201d which includes \u201csessions on Jesus as an animist, alongside examinations of Jesus as a political revolutionary and nonbinary in a gender sense.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>4. Illinois Teachers Shamed For Color Of Their Skin In Taxpayer-Sponsored \u2018Anti-Racist\u2019 Training \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/05\/illinois-teachers-shamed-for-color-of-their-skin-in-taxpayer-sponsored-antiracist-training\/\"><strong>The Federalist<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>A wealthy school district in the Chicago suburbs hosted \u201canti-racism\u201d training for school leadership that told administrators that expecting people of color to teach white people is a form of \u201ccovert white supremacy.\u201d On Feb. 26, Naperville District 203 held an \u201canti-racism\u201d training hosted by the Countywide Equity Institute. Topics included best \u201cequity and inclusion\u201d practices for the district, as well as \u201cimplicit bias\u201d and \u201cmicroaggressions\u201d training.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. Arizona State Dean: Grading Writing Based On Quality Is \u2018Racist,\u2019 Promotes \u2018White Language Supremacy\u2019 \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/arizona-state-dean-grading-writing-based-on-quality-is-racist-promotes-white-language-supremacy\"><strong>The Daily Wire<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>An Arizona State University Associate Dean penned a 358-page book detailing how grading student\u2019s writing is a form of racism and white supremacy. In a book titled \u201cLabor-Based Grading Contracts: Building Equity and Inclusion in the Compassionate Writing Classroom,\u201d professor Asao Inoue encourages teachers to ditch grading for a \u201clabor-based\u201d grading system wherein students earn grades based on their effort.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. After Leading School Closures, Berkeley Teachers Union President Spotted Dropping Daughter Off At In-Person Preschool \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kqed.org\/news\/11862469\/after-leading-school-closures-berkeley-teachers-union-president-spotted-dropping-daughter-off-at-in-person-preschool\"><strong>KQED<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span>The president of California\u2019s Berkeley Federation of Teachers fell under fire after a video surfaced of him taking his two-year-old daughter to in-person preschool. The union president has been advocating for a standard that says schools cannot reopen until all educators and district staff members have been vaccinated and schools agree to enforce social distancing and mask-wearing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. Arizona Education Department Tells Parents To Talk About Racism With Three-Month-Olds \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/arizona-education-department-tells-parents-to-talk-about-racism-with-3-month-olds\">The Daily Wire<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span>The Arizona Department of Education released an \u201cequity toolkit\u201d that calls on parents to address issues of racism \u201cbefore their children can speak.\u201d In a resource graphic obtained by investigative journalist Christopher Rufo, parents were told to start discussing issues of race and racism with babies as young as three months old.
