Like other powerful health authorities, they <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/10\/study-says-all-hormonal-birth-control-raises-breast-cancer-risk-but-dont-expect-the-fda-to-tell-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refuse to inform women<\/a> of the lifelong increased risk of breast cancer for anyone who has ever taken the pill. It seems that the \u201cbenefits\u201d of barrenness trump even the power of pink ribbons. That\u2019s not all: America\u2019s most powerful pediatric voice is also refusing to inform young women of the mental health risks of hormonal contraception, even as we are living through an unprecedented teen mental health crisis, with depression and suicides rising.<\/p>\n<p>The link between hormonal contraception and depression \u2014 and even a threefold higher suicide rate \u2014 is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/12\/04\/new-study-finds-hormonal-birth-control-triples-womens-risk-suicide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not new<\/a> to The <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/10\/06\/news-shocks-no-one-hormonal-birth-control-linked-depression\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federalist\u2019s readers<\/a>, nor to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/30\/young-women-abandoning-birth-control-pills-for-mental-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">countless women around the world<\/a>, nor to anyone familiar with the massive European studies involved. Do the nation\u2019s pediatricians counsel their families that starting birth control might contribute to depression and even suicide? No. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthychildren.org\/English\/ages-stages\/teen\/dating-sex\/Pages\/Birth-Control-for-Sexually-Active-Teens.aspx?_gl=1*ntj4a*_ga*ODE1ODc4MzA3LjE2Nzg2NTUxMTI.*_ga_FD9D3XZVQQ*MTY4MTg0MTU4NC40LjAuMTY4MTg0MTU4NC4wLjAuMA..&#038;_ga=2.126328202.661821045.1681841584-815878307.1678655112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The AAP\u2019s contraception \u201cexplainer,\u201d<\/a> aimed at parents and children, highlights \u201cimproved acne\u201d but does not include a word about depression. Similarly, <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article\/134\/4\/e1244\/32981\/Contraception-for-Adolescents?searchresult=1?autologincheck=redirected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the AAP\u2019s official policy statement on contraception<\/a>, designed to help guide clinical practice, stays mum on mental health \u2014 though does once again highlight that acne-fighting power!<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-841542235\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f98a8067d7084fee90c0f76f0587aa8d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f98a8067d7084fee90c0f76f0587aa8d\"><\/div>\n<p>Interestingly, elsewhere in the AAP\u2019s work, the focus on depression seems almost parodically exaggerated. <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article\/150\/3\/e2022058780\/188339\/The-Adolescent-s-Right-to-Confidential-Care-When?searchresult=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Last year\u2019s policy statement<\/a> on \u201cThe Adolescent\u2019s Right to Confidential Care When Considering Abortion\u201d reveals that the official stance of America\u2019s pediatricians is to advocate for early access to abortion in order to reduce depression \u2014 and, what\u2019s more, to keep those abortions secret because informing parents may pose \u201cpsychological harm\u201d to the teenager. The statement puts the AAP firmly in the mainstream of modern medical practice, where it is commonplace to argue that we <a href=\"https:\/\/gaty.substack.com\/p\/this-is-science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">must increase abortion<\/a> in order to prevent suicide.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion policy is not the only sphere the AAP uses to selectively trumpet a concern over teen mental health. Just this month, in its article on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article\/151\/Supplement%201\/e2022057267F\/191008\/Health-Equity-and-the-Impact-of-Racism-on?searchresult=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health Equity and the Impact of Racism on Adolescent Health<\/a>,\u201d the AAP\u2019s flagship journal sounds the alarm about the immigration debate: \u201cStructural racism in federal antiimmigrant policies in the last 5 years has skyrocketed rates of anxiety and depression among Latine AYA [adolescents and young adults].\u201d The AAP goes out of its way to link debates over border policy to mental health, yet keeps oddly quiet when faced with far stronger evidence of the psychiatric risks of birth control.<\/p>\n<p>While the AAP claims that avoiding suicide is reason enough to broaden abortion access, it seems to take trans suicide in its stride. We know <a href=\"https:\/\/gaty.substack.com\/p\/trans-substantiation-part-3?utm_source=%2Fsearch%2Fsuicide&#038;utm_medium=reader2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">that trans identification dramatically increases the risk of suicide, according to pro-trans organizations themselves<\/a>, and yet <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/aapnews\/news\/19021\/AAP-continues-to-support-care-of-transgender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the AAP<\/a> enthusiastically embraces and affirms trans ideology.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s recap some potential suicide prevention strategies, as seen through the eyes of our medical community:<\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ad794d4af274dacee6e60c189936e86c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ad794d4af274dacee6e60c189936e86c\"><\/div>\n<p>Open borders? <em>Yes, please!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Kill your unborn child? <em>You go girl \u2014 and it\u2019ll stay our little secret!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ban chemical castration and genital mutilation? <em>Whoa now, don\u2019t embrace hate!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Just say no to mood-altering hormonal contraception? *<em>Crickets*<\/em><\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fb45ff12c0a7b8f65257b509074508cf fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fb45ff12c0a7b8f65257b509074508cf\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Theme of Depopulation<\/h2>\n<p>Aside from the nakedly partisan political bent of their activism, there is a clear pattern of supporting any intervention that either kills babies or causes sterility. The medical profession, with the help of Big Pharma, has long been engaged in <a href=\"https:\/\/gaty.substack.com\/p\/medicines-war-on-childhood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a war on <em>childhood<\/em><\/a> \u2014 but this is something new, a war on fertility itself.<\/p>\n<p>The sad truth is that the medical community is now staunchly, openly anti-life. They are not going to inform your child about the mental health dangers inherent in hormonal contraception or in the denial of biological sex. They are far too busy, as <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article\/150\/1\/e2021054936\/186811\/My-Body-Whose-Choice-A-Call-to-Advance?searchresult=1?autologincheck=redirected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">these leading Harvard Medical School professors put it last year in the AAP\u2019s flagship publication<\/a>, sounding \u201ca national call to action for pediatric residency programs to formalize training in reproductive health and justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Doctors Must Speak Up<\/h2>\n<p>Doctors, if you believe in biblical truth, or at least oppose killing or sterilizing children, it is time for you to speak up. If not for yourselves and your own consciences, then for the millions of families out there looking for a medical voice to trust. These families need medical care, and if they can\u2019t rely on a corrupt, woke medical establishment to deliver it, where are they going to get it?<\/p>\n<p>I suspect there are more of us than we know, but even if we\u2019re a small minority, we have an obligation not to politely hold our tongues about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/Moloch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Moloch<\/a> but to affirmatively proclaim our clinics a safe space for God.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parents Must Act<\/h2>\n<p>Parents, it is time to ask your doctor their views on these matters. Your pediatrician\u2019s worldview matters more than ever. Her \u201cpersonal\u201d views may now be the difference between your child growing up happy, well-adjusted, and with all reproductive organs intact or becoming another suicide statistic, another notch in Big Pharma\u2019s belt, another victim of a deranged mammarian mutilator. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Doctors ask you uncomfortable questions all the time. Are you sexually active? Do you smoke pot? How many guns do you have at home? Compared to that, \u201cCan a boy become a girl?\u201d is a layup. Don\u2019t be confrontational in the least, simply engage in polite fact-finding inquiries: \u201cDo you regularly prescribe hormonal contraception?\u201d \u201cDo you support a teenager\u2019s right to choose?\u201d If they make you fill out your preferred pronouns upon arrival at the clinic, you don\u2019t have to ask any questions at all!<\/p>\n<p>I routinely have parents-to-be feel me out on a wide variety of topics when deciding whether to bring their children to my office \u2014 they\u2019ll ask what I think about home births, crying it out, or Dr. Sears vaccine schedules.<\/p>\n<p>I hope your pediatrician\u2019s beliefs on \u201creproductive justice\u201d and \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d will never affect you or your children \u2014 for by the time they do, it will be too late. That confidential counseling session will have happened before you ever find out about it, and there will be nothing protecting your child from the demons, nothing protecting you from a lifetime of regret over not having asked these questions when your child was a babe in your arms.<\/p>\n<p>To be fruitful and multiply is our Creator\u2019s first and oft-repeated blessing to mankind in the book of Genesis; He, apparently lacking the wisdom of our medical betters, never once blesses any of his beloved with the hope of infertility, depression, regret, and infanticide.<\/p>\n<p>Parents, you need to establish now, before a crisis point is reached, what your pediatrician or family doctor\u2019s views on these matters are. Don\u2019t fail your children.
