The incident occurred when Rivera informed Gaete of her planned interview with New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge, which Gaete also wanted to conduct. The argument escalated, and Rivera called Gaete a derogatory term.<\/p>\n<p>ESPN confirmed Rivera&#8217;s termination, stating, &#8220;She no longer works here.&#8221; Rivera attempted to apologize, but Gaete refused to accept it. Rivera took full responsibility for her actions, stating, &#8220;I should not have said what I did.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Previous Incidents<\/h3>\n<p>After Rivera&#8217;s firing, it was revealed that she had previous confrontations with other members of the media.
