Due to the delay in response, President Brian Burch told Fox News that the Biden Justice Department had left them with no choice but to sue federal authorities, demanding why they planned to spy on Catholic churches and treat its members as domestic terrorists.<\/p>\n<h3>The Leaked Memo<\/h3>\n<p>Last month, FBI whistleblower Kyle Seraphin published a leaked document from the bureau\u2019s Richmond Field Office that explicitly points to \u201cracially or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-says-biggest-domestic-terror-threats-in-2021-are-violent-extremists-motivated-by-race-or-anti-authority-views\/\" title=\"FBI Says Biggest Domestic Terror Threats in 2021 Are Violent Extremists Motivated by Race or Anti-Authority Views\">ethnically motivated violent extremists<\/a> in radical-traditionalist Catholic ideology.\u201d The document drew attention to the so-called Radical-Traditional Catholic, which authorities described as someone who rejects the Second Vatican Council as a valid church council, shows disdain for most of the popes elected since Vatican II, and frequently adheres to anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fcc-commissioner-slams-top-baltimore-prosecutors-chilling-request-for-investigation-into-fox-affiliate-over-bias-tucker-carlson-show\/\" title=\"FCC Commissioner Slams Top Baltimore Prosecutor\u2019s \u2018Chilling\u2019 Request For Investigation Into Fox-Affiliate Over Bias, Tucker Carlson Show\">white supremacy views<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Following the leak of the unclassified intelligence document, FBI authorities purged its system and began reviewing the basis for it. FBI Director Christopher Wray recently said during congressional testimony the memo \u201cdoes not reflect FBI standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>CatholicVote&#8217;s Response<\/h3>\n<p>CatholicVote said the subpoena from Rep. Jim Jordan confirmed \u201cthat the leaked memo, originally disavowed under oath by Attorney General Garland as an isolated incident initiated by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/catholic-group-sues-doj-fbi-over-failure-to-comply-with-foia-request-detailing-anti-catholic-memo\/\" title=\"Catholic Group Sues DOJ, FBI Over Failure To Comply With FOIA Request Detailing Anti-Catholic Memo\">low-level rogue agent<\/a>, was actually approved by senior intelligence analysts and distributed to field offices across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are demanding transparency from our government and are determined to uncover just how high up the anti-Catholic bigotry goes,\u201d Burch said.<\/p>\n<p>Burch attributed the actions from federal authorities as part of the \u201cwoke agenda\u201d the Biden administration allegedly has weaponized against people of faith.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether you are a parent who wants to hold a school board accountable, or whether you\u2019re a pro-life American who believes that a baby with a heartbeat who feels pain has a right to life,\u201d Burch told Fox News. \u201cSoon, you are considered a domestic threat, and you could be going to church, and the FBI could be listening to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Seraphin&#8217;s Take<\/h3>\n<p>Seraphin, who first published the leaked memo, told The Daily Wire that \u201cthe only way to force our government to obey the laws passed by Congress and make them accountable is by suing them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/give-my-regards-to-your-puppet-master-elon-musk-fires-back-at-wapo-story-and-owner-jeff-bezos\/\" title=\"\u2018Give My Regards To Your Puppet Master\u2019: Elon Musk Fires Back At WaPo Story And Owner Jeff Bezos\">de facto position<\/a> is to fight FOIA at every turn,\u201d Seraphin said. \u201cWhen an agency that enforces the law refuses to be subject to the law, they lose legitimacy in the eyes of the public. Of course, it is no surprise the FBI doesn\u2019t respect the First Amendment. Protected civil liberties are antithetical to intelligence agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>The FBI and DOJ did not immediately respond to The Daily Wire\u2019s request for comment on the lawsuit.
