Fisher, who famously played Princess Leia in the film franchise, will be posthumously honored on May 4th, according to Fox News. This is the day that many fans have come to call \u201cStar Wars Day,\u201d playing off the famous line, \u201cMay the force be with you.\u201d Fisher passed away in December 2016 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 60. <\/p>\n<p>Fisher\u2019s star will be located near the famous El Capitan Theatre and will be the 2,754th star honored in the Motion Pictures category. Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said, \u201cCarrie will join her \u2018Star Wars\u2019 co-stars and fellow Walk of Famers Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford on this historic sidewalk. I am happy to add, that her star is just a few feet away from the star of Mark Hamill and across the street from the star of her legendary mother Debbie Reynolds!\u201d Reynolds passed away one day after Fisher. <\/p>\n<p>Fisher\u2019s daughter, Billie Lourd, will accept the star on her mother\u2019s behalf. Mark Hamill celebrated the news, tweeting: \u201cLong overdue &#038; so well-deserved,\u201d followed by the hashtag #CarrieOnForever. Fisher made her film debut in \u201cShampoo\u201d before starring in the \u201cStar Wars\u201d trilogy.
