Morell even called on Trump&#8217;s intelligence chief to resign in his final <em>Post<\/em> column before concocting a letter with 50 other former intelligence officials that smeared Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop as &#8220;disinformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Morell admitted in a recent congressional interview that he organized the letter after a conversation with Biden adviser Tony Blinken, now the secretary of state, to help Biden &#8220;win the election.&#8221; Morell also had contact with Blinken before publishing his final columns and interviewed him on his podcast. Morell leaned on a deep network of former spies to gather signatures for the letter, including former CIA director Leon Panetta and former Defense Department official Mike Vickers.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the <em>Post<\/em> penalizing columnists for campaign connections more tenuous than Morell&#8217;s, the newspaper has not commented on his actions.
