It was a mean thing to do,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I run into the guy, I\u2019ll apologize. It was just stupid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Perry had previously used Reeves&#8217; name in a section of the book where he discussed the untimely deaths of talented actors like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger. He wrote, \u201cWhy is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aside from the controversy surrounding his memoir, Perry also opened up about his struggles with addiction. He revealed that he spent over $9 million on his journey to sobriety and even had to wear a colostomy bag while recovering from a perforated colon. \u201cThere is a hell,\u201d he wrote in the book. \u201cDon\u2019t let anyone tell you different. I\u2019ve been there; it exists; end of discussion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Despite the challenges he faced, Perry has come out on the other side and is now using his platform to raise awareness about addiction and mental health.
