The social media platform recently removed their blue check verification from prominent business and celebrity accounts unless they paid the $8\/month subscription fee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Just public accounts were eligible for free confirmation on Twitter after the Thursday release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/stephen-king\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">King<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> kicked off the conversation with a tweet that said, \u201cMy Twitter account says I\u2019ve subscribed to Twitter Blue. I haven\u2019t. My Twitter account says I\u2019ve given a phone number.
