F<\/span>ormer President Donald Trump<\/a> maintains a commanding lead in the polls over his possible challengers<\/a> for the GOP nomination even as Republican voters acknowledge he\u2019s not the strongest candidate to take on President Joe Biden<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Compared to just 38 % of Republicans who said they would vote for Florida Governor, more than half( 51 %) of Republican voters say they will support Trump. According to a subsequent poll from the Wall Street Journal, Ron DeSantis<\/a>, the former president, now has the advantage over his closest competitor. Trump, who trailed DeSantis by 14 positions in a comparable ballot in December, has seen significant growth in the crown.<\/p>\n

Republicans are returning to the collapse, as evidenced by TRUMP’s’s expanding variety of testimonials.<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

According to the poll, Trump still has a commanding lead of 48 % support when the field is open to all potential GOP contenders, up from just 24 % for DeSantis. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley<\/a> received 5 % of the vote, while South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott<\/a>( R-SC ) received only 3 %. All other applicants received 2 % or less of the vote.<\/p>\n

According to the poll, voters who identify as” very conservative ,” or roughly half of Republican voters, are where DeSantis’ popularity is waning the most. The Florida governor has already lagged behind Trump in terms of support from voters who are college-educated and wives.<\/p>\n

Citizens agree that DeSantis would have a better chance of defeating Biden in the general election even though he trails Trump in elections. According to the poll, 41 % of respondents believe DeSantis would be a stronger opponent than just 31 % who believe the same for Trump.<\/p>\n

The poll coincides with DeSantis’ struggle to build a national reputation that can rival Trump’s’s authority, though he has not yet declared his intention to run for president. Many Republicans started looking to DeSantis as the best candidate to replace Trump as their party’s’s nominee after his historic victory in the midterm elections.<\/p>\n

Many Republican officials blamed the party’s’s failure to win control of the Senate or a larger majority in the House on factors like candidate caliber and Trump\u2019s influence following their dismal midterm election performance. Party officials appeared to be prepared to offer their support elsewhere at the time.<\/p>\n

With a growing number of GOP legislators endorsing the former president for the GOP nomination since again, Republicans have appeared to have changed their minds and are turning back to Trump.<\/p>\n

Only three Republican House members supported DeSantis for the GOP election, compared to more than 50 for Trump. Ten Democratic House representatives from DeSantis’ native Florida have joined them and supported Trump over the governor of the state.<\/p>\n

As the Democratic government has scheduled discussions with many members of Congress in Washington over the past year, DeSantis has intensified efforts to build a regional standing before deciding whether to run for president. However, after Rep. Lance Gooden( R-TX ) officially endorsed Trump even hours after meeting with DeSantis, that strategy appeared to fail in some instances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
