The report contains redactions, but the investigation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krqe.com\/news\/new-mexico\/santa-fe-co-sheriff-releases-full-rust-shooting-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a>\u00a0that Baldwin fired a gun with live ammunition. The report also paints a chaotic picture of what happened the day of the shooting, as well as documents repeated problems with firearms on the set.<\/p>\n<p>A report signed by the New Mexico chief medical investigator found Hutchins\u2019 death to be an \u201caccident,\u201d according to CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReview of available law enforcement reports showed no compelling demonstration that the firearm was intentionally loaded with live ammunition on set. Based on all available information, including the absence of obvious intent to cause harm or death, the manner of death is best classified as accident,\u201d the report\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/01\/19\/entertainment\/rust-movie-shooting-alec-baldwin-charges-decision\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Baldwin has rejected culpability in Hutchins\u2019 death. In December 2021, Baldwin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/baldwin-on-if-he-feels-guilt-for-killing-halyna-hutchins-no-someone-is-responsible-its-not-me\">told<\/a>\u00a0George Stephanopoulos in an interview on ABC News that \u201cI didn\u2019t pull the trigger\u201d of the prop gun that fired and killed Hutchins.
