No one is above the law.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bragg appealed the ruling. He is seeking to enact a restraining order against the Republican probe that he calls a &#8220;transparent campaign to intimidate and attack&#8221; his office and its case against Trump. The former president is accused of falsifying business records surrounding alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.<\/p>\n<p>House Republicans launched a probe into Bragg\u2019s case in March and in early April <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?post_type=post&#038;p=1713009\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">subpoenaed<\/a> Pomerantz, who <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/house-gop-subpoenas-manhattan-da-alvin-braggs-former-prosecutor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> last year in his resignation letter that he thinks &#8220;Donald Trump is guilty of numerous felony violations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pomerantz left the office over Bragg\u2019s delay in investigating the former president. House Republicans think &#8220;Pomerantz\u2019s public statements&#8221; on the investigation suggest &#8220;that Bragg\u2019s prosecution of President Trump is politically motivated.&#8221;\t<\/p>\n<p>Jordan responded to Bragg\u2019s lawsuit last week <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jim_Jordan\/status\/1645868074644406272?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saying<\/a>, &#8220;First, they indict a president for no crime. Then, they sue to block congressional oversight when we ask questions about the federal funds they say they used to do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bragg charged Trump, who was arraigned on April 4 in Manhattan, with 34 counts of falsifying business records. House Republicans have <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?post_type=post&#038;p=1704774\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scrutinized<\/a> Bragg since late March when Trump announced his imminent arrest. Rep.
