BuzzFeed is laying off 15 percent of its employees, about 180 people, from the news division and other sections, <em>Variety<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/digital\/news\/buzzfeed-news-shutting-down-layoffs-1235589751\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>Peretti said he &#8220;over invested&#8221; in the news section, which proved to be unprofitable.
