We were watching the U.S. team win the World Cup, and I don\u2019t know, I mentioned something about regrets,\u201d Harrelson explained. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018You know, it\u2019s odd that my father has no regrets.\u2019 And I\u2019ve known Ma Mac a long time, and she goes, \u2018I \u2026 knew \u2026 your father.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the ellipses I found a little troubling or interesting,\u201d Harrelson continued. \u201c\u2018I <em>knew <\/em>your father.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harrelson described McConaughey\u2019s mother\u2019s pause at that particular point as \u201cfilled with innuendo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA pregnant pause, perhaps,\u201d Colbert joked. Harrelson went on to add to the story \u2014 saying that \u201cMa Mac,\u201d as he calls her, had been \u201con a sabbatical\u201d from her relationship with McConaughey\u2019s father during the time that she might have conceived him. That, coupled with the very suspicious manner in which she claimed she \u201cknew\u201d Harrelson\u2019s father, had given both actors pause.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thing is we want to go and test. But for him, it\u2019s a much more big deal. I mean, he feels like he\u2019s losing a father. But I\u2019m like, \u2018No you\u2019re gaining a different father and a brother,\u201d Harrelson added.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><a class=\"c-link c-link--focus-visible\" href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>McConaughey made the revelation just a week earlier while talking with television host Kelly Ripa for her Sirius XM \u201cLet\u2019s Talk Off-Camera\u201d podcast, adding that the furor surrounding their possible relationship was just an extension of their friendship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, where I start and where he ends, and where he starts and I end, has always been like a murky line.
