Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ponder, referring to the Biden administration\u2019s position that banning men from women\u2019s sports would violate Title IX restrictions, tweeted, \u201cThis would take away so many opportunities for biological women and girls in sports. It is a shame that we are needing to fight for the integrity of Title IX in 2023 and the reason it was needed in the first place. #savewomenssports.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This would take away so many opportunities for biological women and girls in sports. In March, ESPN anchor Sage Steele ripped the decision to allow men to compete in the women\u2019s division of USA Powerlifting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cUnfair to women. This week, Gaines lashed out at rival\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/editorial.bentkey.internal\/news\/the-patriarchy-strikes-again-social-media-explodes-over-upenn-move-to-elevate-trans-swimmer-lia-thomas-amanda-prestigiacomo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lia Thomas<\/a>\u00a0after the transgender-identifying athlete complained that \u201ctrans kids lose out on opportunities\u201d because many states and athletic bodies have barred biological males from competing against females.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an appearance on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/editorial.bentkey.internal\/news\/piers-morgan-torches-democrat-katie-porter-over-remarks-about-riley-gaines-daily-wire-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Piers Morgan Uncensored<\/a>,\u201d Gaines, a former University of Kentucky star, cited the words of Thomas, who competed for the University of Pennsylvania men\u2019s team before switching to the women\u2019s team. Gaines, who has become increasingly outspoken in the cause for protecting female athletes from unfair competition, said it is men posing as women who are stealing opportunities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cLia Thomas [was] quoted saying, you know, \u2018It breaks my heart to see trans kids lose out on opportunities,\u201d Gaines told Morgan. \u201cReplace that with word \u2018woman.\u2019 Does it still break Thomas\u2019s heart to see women lose out on opportunities? Because that\u2019s what\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thomas last year tied Gaines for fifth-place in the NCAA finals of the\u00a0women\u2019s 200-meter race, but it was Thomas who was initially awarded the medal. Gaines believes that decision was part of the NCAA\u2019s effort to promote Thomas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFrom my experience competing against Lia Thomas at the national championships, I watched first-hand women lose out on opportunities,\u201d Gaines said. \u201cI watched women not become All-Americans, missing that eighth and 16th place by one place because they were displaced by a male.
