Version: 4.0.47--><p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ted-cruz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ted Cruz<\/a> (R-TX) called on Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen this week to immediately release all suspicious activity reports related to President Joe Biden\u2019s family after Republicans in the House raised the alarm this week after visiting the Treasury Department over the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe US Department of Treasury needs to release every Suspicious Activity Report related to the Biden family,\u201d Cruz said. \u201cIf Janet Yellen doesn\u2019t release the reports, she is complicit in the coverup.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The US Department of Treasury needs to release every Suspicious Activity Report related to the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p>If Janet Yellen doesn\u2019t release the reports, she is complicit in the coverup. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Verdict?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Verdict<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tedcruz\/status\/1648692239801933824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 19, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>House Oversight Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/james-comer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"3\">James Comer<\/a> (R-KY) and other GOP members announced on Monday that they paid a visit to the Treasury Department following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-family-probe-reaches-breakthrough-with-treasury-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"4\">breakthrough agreement<\/a> allowing access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.occ.treas.gov\/topics\/supervision-and-examination\/bank-operations\/financial-crime\/suspicious-activity-reports\/index-suspicious-activity-reports.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"5\">suspicious activity reports<\/a> (SARs), which financial institutions can use to flag possible criminal behavior, for the Biden family and their associates\u2019 business transactions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThousands of pages of financial records related to the Biden family, their companies, and associates\u2019 business schemes were made available to members of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which confirm the importance of this investigation,\u201d Comer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/six-additional-biden-family-members-may-have-benefited-from-hunter-business-dealings-comer-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"26\">said<\/a> in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden family enterprise is centered on Joe Biden\u2019s political career and connections, and it has generated an exorbitant amount of money for the Biden family,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019ve identified six additional members of Joe Biden\u2019s family who may have benefited from the Biden family\u2019s businesses that we are investigating, bringing the total number of those involved or benefiting to nine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On an episode of his podcast \u201cVerdict\u201d with co-host Ben Ferguson, Cruz said that Yellen needed to let the American people decide if the Biden family was corrupt by showing them what is in the suspicious activity reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we\u2019ve got members of Congress seeing this report who are horrified, who are appalled, they\u2019re going, \u2018Holy cow, how is there so much money flowing from China?\u2019 Janet Yellen has a choice right now,\u201d Cruz said. \u201cShe is not innocent in this. Now, there\u2019s no evidence that Janet Yellen was part and parcel of the Biden family business profiting off Communist China. There\u2019s no reason whatsoever other than if you want to be part of a political cover up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multiple members of the Biden family are already known to be of interest to GOP investigators. Comer\u00a0announced last month that subpoenaed financial records dating back to Biden\u2019s time as vice president showed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/03\/16\/politics\/house-gop-memo-biden-family\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"29\">$1 million in indirect payments<\/a> from a Chinese energy company to Biden\u2019s adult son Hunter Biden, brother James Biden, daughter-in-law Hallie Biden, and an unknown \u201cBiden,\u201d adding fuel to concerns about influence peddling and business schemes.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, federal prosecutors are investigating Hunter Biden over his foreign business dealings in countries such as China and Ukraine, tax affairs, and more. Though Hunter Biden has said he expects to be cleared of wrongdoing, Republicans have raised concerns about influence peddling, especially anything that may include the president, spurred in part by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-family-sought-to-make-money-by-giving-china-preferential-access-to-us-energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"36\">findings on an abandoned laptop<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
