The King ascended the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at 96. Charles formally becomes the head of the monarchy when he\u2019s crowned at London\u2019s Westminster Abbey. The young member of the royal family is the second-in-line to the throne, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/royal-family\/prince-george-sword-coronation-king-charles-b2319743.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independent<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Telegraph, George\u2019s involvement in the ceremony is the first one in modern times in which a future monarch is involved in the service. When the late Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, the future King Charles was only 4-years-old.
